I've probably said this before but this could really accelerate how clubs look at TV deals. In five years time I don't think we'll have a traditional Sky/BT subscription model. The bigger clubs will be wanting to negotiate their own TV rights. The top four won't want to be sharing the dough with the likes of Burnley. Not necessarily bad news for Leeds but even better for the likes of Scum and Arsenal.

Which would be slightly offset by new people subscribing.

Won't be long until the Premier league breaks away from sky & bt and we have to sign up for a monthly fee like Netflix and amazon prime.

At least then all the football would be in one place. I imagine the prices would be extortionate but it would be better than having to subscribe to five or six different services. They could introduce all different kinds of pricing structures. Pay per view, season tickets for certain leagues or teams etc. Either way I can only see more games being televised with staggered kick off times.

Unfortunately this may also speed up the setting up of a European super league if Liverpool etc can’t earn enough in the uk

If the whole of next season is behind closed doors, not many (if any) teams apart from Europe's elite will survive!!!

Forget all this ‘sporting integrity’ bollocks. Prem want to finish so they don’t have to pay sky back a tranche of the money. If they agree to play out the season with no relegation then football is finished.

Agree. The owner of my local told me years back that sky upped the amount to pubs to stop them showing football for a high number of people forcing them to subscribe to get it. Instead of one subscription showing the game to 50 spectators you get 49 others to pay for it.

Exactly. Absolutely no evidence yet to suggest it will be any other way except a few wishful thinkers

Agree with stopping to buy Made in China, but no Chinese restaurants is going too far. No reason to punish your neighbors.

PL should call the bluff of the 6 teams in relegation zone and decide to play games as scheduled with home ground advantage.

increase police presence around grounds and arrest anyone who shows up.

Agreed. It doesn't matter where a game is played - if you're (foolishly) going to turn up outside the ground, you're going to turn up no matter where it is. OK, there won't be quite the same numbers. It's such a weak argument, this neutral grounds nonsense. Perhaps it could be used as Plan B if using regular grounds fails massively?

Just been watching the Arsenal Leeds game 2003. Miss those massive games so much and made me realise just how utterly pissed off, bloody raging I’ll be if we’re denied promotion. I hope we drag the football authorities through every court in Europe if pl pull a fast one

Here’s my view ; Football isn’t football without crowds, so stall this season until September and look to have it finished around Christmas.
For next season start it at the end of February breaking at the end of May so the European Championships can take place and resume the season mid July spreading it until March 2022.
The 2022/23 season can start mid June breaking up in November for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and then resuming in February finishing in May as normal.
However in greyhound racing if the hare stops on the final bend the race is voided regardless of how far in front the leading dog was. The race for the championship is 46 games not 37 so if they decide next season has to start in August this season has to be voided.

Was great knowing the result. I was in the Arsenal North Bank watching that. They were spitting feathers, took all my self control not to jump up when viduka scored the winner.:1980_boogie_down:
