Talking of scum media Or in this case poor lazy media from Leeds Live...

Brentford can now not afford to drop any points if they wish to catch Leeds in the Championship table at the end of the season.

The Whites’ 1-0 win over Swansea, thanks to Pablo Hernandez’s late winner, increased the gap between the two teams to six points with just three league games left to play.

That means a loss for the Bees against Preston would almost certainly rule the possibility of them catching Marcelo Bielsa’s men out, due to Leeds’ superior goal difference.

Therefore the pressure is on Thomas Frank’s side to pick up another three points when they host Preston North End at Griffin Park on Wednesday evening - 24 hours before Leeds are back in action.

    Clowns, eh?

But why the focus on Leeds? Surely the Baggies present an easier target for Brentford, yet it's always Leeds that's mentioned! FFS, they're only 3 points behind getting promoted in place of the Baggies, but it's 6 with us.

As you say, lazy journalism. Either that or totally clueless (which is more than possible).

Clearly making the assumption that we will win our last three and we all know Leeds like to do it the easy way <doh>

Financial Fair Play Regulations take major hit as Manchester City's Champions League ban thrown out

Experts warning Europe has now lost all authority to bridge the multi-billion pound footballing wealth gap.

Uefa is under pressure to reform its Financial Fair Play rules after Manchester City's Champions League ban was dismissed, with experts warning Europe has now lost authority to bridge the multi-billion pound footballing wealth gap.

In apparent recognition that its checks had failed, the governing body acknowledged "insufficient conclusive evidence" as the reason behind the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reducing City's total punishment to a 10million euro (£9million) fine. Uefa also pointed blame at its own club finance investigators for not meeting a five-year statute of limitations.

The dramatic reduction in punishment is nothing short of an embarrassment for Uefa after it also failed at the same Swiss court in an attempt to reopen FFP sanctions against Paris St Germain a year ago.

Here's part of the statement from CAS:

The CAS award emphasized that most of the alleged breaches reported by the Adjudicatory Chamber of the CFCB were either not established or time-barred. As the charges with respect to any dishonest concealment of equity funding were clearly more significant violations than obstructing the CFCB's investigations, it was not appropriate to impose a ban on participating in UEFA's club competitions for MCFC's failure to cooperate with the CFCB's investigations alone.

However, considering i) the financial resources of MCFC; ii) the importance of the cooperation of clubs in investigations conducted by the CFCB, because of its limited investigative means; and iii) MCFC's disregard of such principle and its obstruction of the investigations, the CAS Panel found that a significant fine should be imposed on MCFC and considered it appropriate to reduce UEFA's initial fine by 2/3, i.e. to the amount of EUR 10 million.

Which is good news for the billionaire owners who do as they like anyway. Except that now the tail is wagging the dog. This is a complete shambles and they should take a leaf out of the twots who fined us for a guy stood on a public foitpath. A fine which was stupidly paid and i would have appealed just like man city have. In fact why can we not fight it and get the money back.

I wonder what impact this will have on Derby and Sheffield Wednesday regarding their FFP?

A bit technical for me but if you mean Derby should be deducted at least 15 points then yes I agree.

Without Bielsa he would be a failure. Orta spunked all the cash with his scattergun academy approach.
