Morning Mike, glad both you and Moe are on the mend and there isn't anything too wrong apart from having to remove fluid from your lungs.
In regards to the breakfast debate... Aerial success, I guess as we play far more football on the ground it’s going to be low. We played some lovely long passes on Saturday, they often were controlled by the receiver bringing it down with his foot, I’m guessing aerial success is only counted if it lands on the head? We had a lot of corners as well but against big defenders and not the tallest attackers it’s another area that will knock our percentage down. Passing, Possession, Shots as long as we feature we’ll on those we’ll do okay
Can they do anything right? Short passes and you complain we do too much “tippy tippy” football and complain that Phillips can only pass sideways, long ball passing that more often than not found the target and you still complain, you’re obviously a hard guy to please
No Doc you misunderstood me it was the Doctor at Jimmies who happens to be my GP who came up with her theory I am still awaiting the test results which I should hear on Thursday
Morning all from a very hot Mexico. Does aerial success refer to attacking headers, defensive headers or both. Best wishes to 60 and his good lady wife.
Even you must agree the regularity of the long ball passes v Forest was different to way they normally play. More often than not quite a few of the long ball passes were either to long, too strong or didn't find their target. The rest is just individual personal perceptions..........
So Captain Jackboot still hasn't worked out that Florist forced us into the long ball? Perhaps someone could 'reply' this or my original match comments so that he can be educated. Again. So, Captain, Florist forced us into the long balls by positioning 4-5 players in our half when we were in possession, only pressing when we approached the halfway line. It's been done to us several times before. With no space to move, we were forced to hit long. But not all of the time, of course. Btw, an 80% passing completion rate was reported in the OP, so we can't have been that bad at passing, can we? Or does that not fit into the 'slag everything about Leeds' narrative he favours? Actually, I have to say that some of KP's long passes were sublime, and some with barely a glance at how the field lay. Class.
Yes I agree we did more long passes but I disagree that most were too strong or didn’t find their target, most were very good, I thought we mixed it up well. I don’t think anyone played bad, everyone made a mistake or two from a missed tackle, caught in possession, missed pass, off target shot, but this is Championship football, even the best in the PL miss a pass or two or fail to score with every shot. We’re not going to get 100% perfection from 11 players and I just feel there isn’t enough credit when it’s due. The entire team played well as far as I’m concerned and Forest fluked a point
I think this was a lesson learned from last season WJ... We’re ready to pass long and use Harrison one side and I’m sure it will be Costa the other very soon when teams do this to us. Bielsa and the team can’t win, had they not done this some would have said we have no plan B
Absolutely true , as i have said before the only thing missing was the finishing, otherwise we would have won that at a canter.
