All over 4-0 Leeds U23s go 8 points clear

How Edmondson didnt score tonight.. he has been bloody unlucky.

But he and Clarke along with Jordan Stevens were outstanding. The kid Bogusz could play at 10 for the first team right now hes so good and he ran the show tonight having Kun in the attack too was way too much for Charlton to handle

Not sure what part I got wrong, nor the relevance of the licensing body.

My knowledge is restricted to what the specialist said on the radio, and it seemed sensible to me. More important for a steward to stand his ground & prevent others joining in than to leave his post to chase the invader & leave the door open for others.

Was a great game to watch. Big crowd again. First time I've seen Bogusz in the flesh, and agree he's ready for the first team already. Really doesn't look 17, composed, confident, skilful, athletic, .... the list of positives goes on, but top of the list is his eye for a key pass imo. From what I've seen, he can't be far behind Brown. Or Roberts, for that matter.

2 lads in the bench that I've never heard of before. One came on - Hudson, #13. Looked like he came from the u11s. Too little time to judge, but didn't see any mistakes & a lot of energy.

Struijk was immense, and got seriously clattered a number of times. I'm starting to change my mind on Diaz. I thought he might be on his way in the summer as he's not really set the heather alight. Yet he's always picked, very composed & never lets us down.

Still not convinced Stevens is giving his all, but I can't put my finger on why I think that.

Haven't seen Nicell play in the flesh for a while. He's matured nicely. Played DM, then went over to cover at RB when Hosannah went off. Accomplished. I'm sure he's taller & wider since I last saw him.

Tun played well. Noticed on the team sheet they handed out that he used Mihaylov as his surname. I can understand why - Kun M. doesn't sound quite as bad as Kun T. :)

'Keeper Male didn't have much to do. First time I've saw him play. Didn't look very tall to me. Speaking of which, seen Baily Double Barrell in Morrisons the other day with his tiny bird. I've only seen him play from a distance, so I was surprised how lanky & skinny he was - and he was wearing glasses! Might explain a few of the howlers. :)

Interestingly, no sign of Halme, Gotts, Davis, or Shacks.

Finally, young Jack. Think this was his finest ever performance. Needs to sharpen up on his shooting (like most of the team), but everything else was right up to speed. I expect him to be on the bench on Saturday.

    Hudsons debut for the U23s

When you look at that U23 team and see the quality that Orta has brought in, wow. Strujik came from Ajax and for a CB has scored in his last 4 U23 games. Stevens I believe was bought from Charlton, Bogusz, Kun, Clarke, Halme, Diaz, Miazek and the list grows in the U23s but wonderkids in the U18s like Haughland and a few more like the Scottish winger recently brought in and the striker from Donny last week

Lets not forget about Oriel Rey who is out on loan in Spain getting rave reviews as he usually plays every match and the full match

For me, it's not a recent thing. It's something I've sensed all season. It's almost as if he can see a big, big chance to get into the first team, so does the showy things to get noticed, but baulks at the hard tackles to avoid injury, for instance. And the occasional drop in concentration when it matters.

I also wonder where he'd fit into the first team. He doesn't seem like an out & out winger to me, although he performs well in the role.

Bottom line is that I just can't put my finger on it. I'm guessing, and hope I'm wrong. I'd also add that any shortcomings I think I'm sensing are not deliberate - it's all in his head. Pretty sure Bielsa is working on it, and tbh, last night was one of his better performances.

Decent shout Jock and I would add that we have strikers in our academy who are used out wide. Clarke is a striker but Bielsa uses him wide, Edmondson was also used wide, so when you look at the strikers available especially in the 23s. Clarke, Stevens, Dalby, Kun, Edmondson and why Dalby was loaned out. Bielsa sees strikers being able to play from out to in and in to out. Roofe and Bamford do it and if you look at Bielsas wingers historically they tend to score goals and why Harrison hasnt delivered yet but Pablo has. We have a glut of strikers in the kids and he will use them wide where possible, buthave tou seen Stevens when given the more central role Jock to compare as it maybe that he is learning a new role?

I haven't, no. But it's more of an intuitive thing with me. There's no doubt the lad has talent. I think his head needs sorting, but it's very likely that it's me that's wrong about this.

Btw, had occasion to look at a list of the u23 players on the books. Listed the ages of them, & 2 stood way, way out. Denton & Coyle are both 23, meaning they'll be 24 next season. I don't think there's any doubt that they're gone, like you predicted.

Deffo and would also say Wilks has missed his chance especially trying to move ahead of Clarke, Edmondson, Dalby, Stevens, Kun with Huaghland and the new kid from Donny coming through as well.

Wilks has scored 13 this season but its L1 and he gets subbed off a bit too, so I think he'll be gone too
