Match facts Brentford are unbeaten in their past nine home league matches against Leeds United (W6 D3) since losing 2-1 in August 1950. Leeds have not scored more than once in any of their previous 13 league matches against Brentford, netting just eight goals (W3 D5 L5). Should Leeds win at Brentford, it would be 69 years and 169 days since their last away league win there, their second biggest gap between away league wins against an opponent, with their longest standing at 74 years between wins at Millwall in 1931 and 2005. Brentford are looking to win three consecutive league games for the first time since October - they've won their last two by an aggregate score of 8-3. Leeds have lost their past six away league matches in London, including four away defeats this season alone at Charlton, Millwall, Fulham and QPR. Would be an awesome match to start our new promotion surge
Caprile played in the last U23 vs Derby last Friday but that didn't mean Meslier was selected vs Forest. Sorry bud!
Flip side is that Bielsa said he didn't want to sign anyone unless they improved the 1st team squad. So.... why did Bielsa agree to it?
Well, if he does play and he has another howler I can see the faithfull turning on the messiah, it could get ugly, there's only Bielsa and LL that can't see the clown is a ****ing liability
That's true but then again if he has got this clause written in then I suppose that's Bielsa's excuse. Don't know what LL's excuse is though
Sorry Ristac, I was referring more about Poveda. He joined and reports suggested he was flying in training, made one bench and not done any real minutes in the U23's. Kind of conflicting stories coming out of the club at the minute. I'm not calling you out btw. I think me and you are pretty much on the same page 99% of the time.
Here is what I think... Bielsa supposedly convinced Poveda to join us, he is a player who wanted to leave Man City as he didn't want to be in the U23's. Bielsa doesn't mind one less than 100% fit player on the bench but he can't afford two (in his own opinion). I believe Bielsa sees a 100% fit Poveda as an option to start, but when he isn't fully fit we have better options. How does he explain to Poveda you are fitter than Augustin but I am dropping you from the bench and putting Augustin on it? Bielsa is basically saying after Bamford we don't have an option for that position so I have no choice but to play Augustin from the bench but if Costa can't play then I have lots of options. Maybe Poveda will be on the bench tomorrow, I don't get why he doesn't do a full 90 in the reserves to build up that fitness required If we don't go up this season and if we really have committed ourselves to buying Costa I hope we see Costa playing on the left and Poveda on the right, send Harrison back unless we get him cheap
Unlike other clubs,we don't sign anyone who can walk straight in to the first team, WHY ffs, by the time Augustin/Poveda are fit the season will be over, that's if he had any intention of playing them at all.
Bamford isn't 100% match fit either, he hasn't been practicing how to score goals. So let me get this right..................cos I think Bielsa has resorted to being deceitful to the fans to cover his own arse. We can play Bamford and replace him (if) with Augustin if he's on bench. We can play Harrison and Costa, and replace'em with Poveda if he's on bench. What we can't obviously do is play Augustin and Poveda and replace them if they run out of puff....................Sorry Ristac, doesn't make sense.
How dare you compare me to Bielsa Olof, I refuse to lower my standards to same level as a stubborn, arrogant, one trick pony, no plan B, never won anything, I'm loving Bamford and Phillips equally Bielsa...........it's just not cricket old bean.............
Thenh we need to drop Phillips and start Douglas so he can take the corners.............what an improvement..........
