Word for word mate and he wouldn't be pressed for more, when he was pressed for more detail he commented on how the media had made jokes about him when he took 20 minutes to explain last time why Augustin would not be starting so that is all he has to say on the matter. Me personally, I think he is disappointed with Augustins fitness level after two weeks, who knows maybe his body fat percentage has increased? Just guessing what "problems increased" could mean.
Poveda didn't stand out, he was decent for the U23s today but there were some better players. We also scored from a Douglas corner, seriously I am not joking And the young keeper saved a penalty
Okay, Bielsa also said: I was saying in the last 7-8 months, he has played three matches. The conclusions are obvious. The objective of the persistence is this. You play matches where the result is not important and in those matches, the player can get this level of that performance. In this moment, results are very very important. So we need to manage the level of players, giving minutes trying to get him to a higher level, but are the same time not harming the team, expecting one player to get to his best level. So maybe Bielsa is saying players need to play in the U23s to build fitness levels (non important games) but because of the importance of tomorrows game, he needed to save Augustin for tomorrow. His problems have increased because he wasn't able to play today and gain fitness?
Wouldn't it be funny if on Bielsas last day or his interpreters, the interpreter just made a load of **** up when he was translating, specially if he did it both ways
I've often that that mate, if I was his translator I don't think I could help myself and would have to say some right bullshit
Douglas and Berardi played 30 minutes each so I am guessing they will be on the bench tomorrow, Poveda 45 minutes Theo Hudson stole the show from the left wing . Douglas Corner Goal Hudson to McCarron Goal Nial Huggins Goal
Didn't think much of Poveda tbh, maybe he's nowhere near fit but I saw three similar type players who all looked better than him - Theo Hudson, Liam McCarron and Jordan Stevens.
Increasing his difficulties means he hasn’t lost the weight expected and has probably gained a few pounds - you know how strict they are on optimum weight.
I believe this is what Bielsa is saying at the moment, that we have better options on the bench than Poveda, I think he is trying to justify his decisions and the constant questioning of team selection. It's always the same though mate, we sign a player nobody has seen play and some demand that they start with absolutely no idea of their ability. I don't mind Augustin coming off the bench but it's clear to see he isn't match fit
That's what I think 8% body fat is the target, I bet it has crept up since he joined. If Bielsa believes that is lack of U23 game time fine but if Augustin isn't giving it his all this will end in tears.
My prediction for tomorrow ------------ Messlier -------- Ayling - White - Cooper - Dallas ------- Phillips - Klich ----------- Costa --- Pablo --- Harrison -------- Bamford ------------ Subs Kiko Berardi Augustin Alioski Douglas Shackleton Stevens Shackleton could be the dark horse to start maybe in place of Costa and Pablo out on the right
If the ****'s playing tomorrow it can only mean he's got a 'must play every league game' clause in his contract
