Whilst I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just wondering why you mentioned that we have used the green striped one before, when the yellow/blue halved one was our home kit for something like 14 years and also our away kit in in 98/99, and I have to admit I liked that version
Just didn't like the half/half, the green stripe is significant of that time, always have the Yeboah hat trick in that, like to keep that image. Just my opinion of course. If we're going retro, why not go all the way back, when non of us were here to see it worn.
It's the wages though. Stones will be on excess of 100k a week. 3 x the amount of our current highest earner. Get him for 20 million on 120k a week on a 5 year contract = 50 million quid. We'd struggle to recoup that fee if we decided to sell, or find a buyer willing to pay his wages. Sound familiar to the Ridsfail era? Ben White is on 5k a week. Offer 30 million and 30k a week for 5 years = 38 million quid and he would retain more value if we sold him on during that period. I'm not saying we should go for either, just that the wages will cost in excess of the fee. Stones is a non starter for me.

Two trains of thought on White I’ve read have sympathy with both viewpoints. Spend the money on a player already well integrated into the squad and style of play. The other is, he is a player we had last season, we have a limited transfer budget and we would be spending a sizeable amount of it on a player here last year so effectively not strengthening the championship team.
I did say that he should score more but neither Nketiah nor Big Kev could replace him. I remember the abuse Sterling got when he was doing exactly the same for England. He dug in and under Pep is now a regular goalscorer. If Bamford wasn't getting into those positions then Bielsa wouldn't pick him. Also, if his work rate dropped, he wouldn't make the team. Imagine if he did start converting 20% more of the chances he got? He'd be £50m striker. I think our two best finishers are Dallas and Ayling Robbie Keane was a good striker because he always made the keeper work. I'd be interested how many of Bamford's chances were saved or hit the woodwork. He's one of ours so I want him to get better at converting chances. An absolute no to Stones. If Pep doesn't pick him then Bielsa won't and £22m is too much for White
