I see that Farke has been announced as manager of the month for January today. As we all know, it is the law that on winning this award you must lose your next game.

    Well that's me told!

I just watched the daily news on 'Leeds United - The View' and he said that no Leeds manager that's won MOTM award has lost their next game since David O'Leary!

Sorry I disagree with whatever site you read that on Dirty:emoticon-0116-evilg

O'Leary last won it 4 May 2001 and lost the very next day 5th May 2001 away to Arsenal 2-1, with Harte scoring for us.

Since then Grayson won it for December 2010, awarded 12 Jan 2011 and beat Scunthorpe at home on 15 Jan 4-0, Watt, Gradel, Somma and Johnson scoring.

Bielsa won in in August 2018 (announced 7/9/18), next game drew 1-1 with Millwall on 15 September, Jack Harrison scoring an 89th minute equaliser.

Bielsa won it again in November 2019 (announced 13 Dec 2019), next game drew 3-3 on 14 December 2019 at home to Cardiff (dont need to say anymore about that game :( )

Bielsa won for a third time in July 2020 (announced 30 July 2020), next competitive game was on 12 Sept 2020 when we LOST away to Liverpool in the premier league 4-3 (again dont need to say anything about that game)

Farke won his first with us in November 2024 (announced 8 Dec 2024) and next game was played 9th December, when we beat Blackburn 2-0 away, with James and Summerville on the scoresheet.

Now obviously if that site wants to change their point to in the same competition, then I will admit they are correct :D

NB - Edited after WJ spotted my typing error :)

It was a video on YouTube. But apart from Bielsa and the Liverpool game it seems to be the case and that Liverpool game while technically the next game after the award was actually six weeks later, in the following season and in a different division so...... any pre-season games?

Well we beat some Portugeuse Second Division club in a friendly prior to the Liverpool game, but that is stretching the technicalities :emoticon-0102-bigsm

However just found the YT video , so have left a comment on there, will see what occurs :emoticon-0130-devil

What happens when a team surrounds the ref, disagreeing with his decision, & they're all dissenting (we've seen this many times) - do they all get a blue card? What would happen if 5 players from the team are blue-carded, meaning the minimum of 7 players onfield requirement is not met - do they forfeit the fixture?.

Also, do blue cards get totted up, as the yellows do presently?

I’d double like this if I could. What about when whole teams surround the ref, do you sin bin them all and abandon the game for 10 minutes. As much as I don’t want to be rude to anyone on here but for me, if you want sin bin’s and VAR you’re not a fan of football, better off going to watch the Rugby.

Ok then just change a deliberate hack down when the ball isn’t within playing distance into a straight red card.

Always willing to compromise for the good of the game <ok>

It can be depending level of force so a rule already in place. Rodon would have gotten one against Plymouth

Of course because any challenge can be a red card if excessive force or endangering an opponent occurs. That however wasn't my meaning as it's more the blantant wipe out with a trip or lunge at an opponents legs which we see repeatedly to stop attacks. These type of fouls rarely get anything other than a yellow and the best example that springs to mind is Fernadinho on Raphina which resulted in an injury which put him out of the game for weeks.

But you ignored the Rodon tackle, which incidentally proves my point about the inconsistency this rule will bring. Anyway, my point is that football flourished and the premier league became a multi billion pound industry watched all around the world without all this crap. I can barely watch the prem now because VAR has ruined it as a spectacle. Who the **** wants to watch a ref holding his finger to his ear every ****ing 10 minutes

Think he is referring to the red card at Hull.

He took the yellow card for the team to break up the counter attack so you think he should be sin binned

To those who think that rule changes are pointless and like Jurgen Klopp are of the opinion nothing of note has ever happened to change the game for the good you're forgetting a fairly recent change with has revolutionized how the game is played and that's before we come on to the back pass law which was the best thing ever to happen to football.

If you mean at Plymouth when he grabbed an opponent then yes definitely.

Or was it at Bristol City ?

Can't remember as too many games recently.
