It was more about him holding the ball up to bring the likes of Raphinha in to the game more. Poor old Dan James for all his efforts isn't exactly great at holding defenders off him. You don't necessarily have to go long ball for a big man up top. That would be a rather simplistic way of thinking.

If he can’t see we need a left back (preferably a ****ing left footed one) and now a right back when we are being linked with Brooks and Kiefer Moore, I’d have to question whether he is the man for the job.
Relax we potentially have the best attacking left footed left back in the league and Farke has taken control of the Spence situation so it’s all under control
Sad to see Spence go but mainly because its a area of pitch we are struggling to lay gloves on. but, he wasn't the 2nd coming was he? whatever went on he's gone can't do nowt about it. But we are gagging for Fullbacks now. Think we have the fire power for this league and should be counting on defensive issues with the loans we have available. I'm Leeds through and through but other than Gnonto who I think will leave. only other player that will be looked at is Summerville I see no Prem club being interested in any other player in our squad this window. Rutter fab player but still now going to make his transfer fee profitable and I see no movement. Tighten up the defence. get rid of the dead wood we still won't be far away. then hopefully lets talk transfers when we back in the big time when we can actually attract proper players.
Don't think we've missed him to honest and as he's a rat he can bloody well stay there. Firpo on the other hand is one of the few who stayed and will hopefully now play an important role in trying to get us promoted. Of course some of the nay sayers will argue he only stayed because he was injured but there's now way of knowing that and the facts are he's still here whilst other injured players like Adams and Harrison left.
As we've only conceded 25 goals all season I'm always a little baffled why so many supporters talk about tightening up the defence as though it's a problem area ? It's more goals we need as currently all of the top 3 are outscoring us.
its numbers mate. we lacking numbers. as well as being part of the team where we really struggle for injuries.
Cooper,Firpo,Byram all always going to miss 25/45% of the season. Ayling,Cresswell not in the picture Strujik now crocked. Young Archie at F/B we actually doing well for what we had out to be fair.
Can see your point but as we've 4 good centre backs I'd say that we're pretty well covered there. Yes Struijk out at the moment, as was Cooper earlier, but that's why we have the four. So that leaves the full backs where we've had injury issues at left back but have still coped by using Spence there. Just replace Spence then and we're good to go defensively unless someone else leaves and then we replace them just the same. The caveat being that the replacement for Spence should be good enough to be a starter, or at least compete for the place along with Archie, Ayling and Shackleton (if fit).
as on goals yes we down on that I agree but we are creating the 2nd most chances in the league so the ability is there to create its for the players to be more clinical. So its either the strikers aren't good enough or they need to pull there fingers out their arses and be switched on.
