Agreed, but have you considered that perhaps the thing we're missing most is a captain? I have a strong suspicion that we'll continue to flounder until Cooper returns.
I’ve never understood why he gets so much flak. His organisational skills in defence and his understated leadership skills in general have been sorely missed. Maybe people will now realise why the players voted him in as captain.
True that bamford is not a natural finisher… and has topped the league in missed chances. True that Philips does have lapses in concentration but I wouldn’t say they’re disproportionate or a significant feature of his game. they are both huge misses though. Phillips especially so. in addition to being the only players in the squad truly capable of playing in their positions they would lift the players around them. as others have said, cooper has been a miss too… likely exaggerated by the others missing the spine is missing from the team and in 2 of the three cases, no direct like for like replacements in the squad.
That's something that we had better start showing from here on in, they would be advised to go and talk to Billy outside!
