Forget skin colour for a moment, we currently have 8 English PL managers and 10 from other nations. Drop to the Championship and we have 10 English compared to 13 from Nationalities in other countries. I personally don’t believe there is any racism in picking the right man for the job. JFH worked wonders at Burton, I’d have took him back as our next coach at the time then he left and failed at a few clubs, now I’d never want him back as he isn’t good enough. Ruud Gullit started off great as a manager then his career slowly went downhill. I too would like to know which black managers are being turned down and why? Saying this, you could look at over 50% of the top two divisions in this country and ask why we’re employing from abroad and ask why we don’t give more British managers a chance. We could ask that but we don’t as it makes a better headline pointing out we have so few Black managers.

Olof comes up with something most of us have forgot regarding Yorkshire cricket. Not long ago you had to be from Yorkshire to play for the club. Then the club realised they were missing out on some brilliant talent from Yorkshire mainly the asian community. They tried their best to get this lot interested in Yorkshire cricket with little results. Then they had the masterstroke of bringing in a better batsman than Boycott in the “Little Master” and boom we had interest at last. So rules were changedto get him in and now that Yorkshire only rule has gone. Because it affected everyone outside Yorkshire it wasnt controversial, but if it had been whites only boooooom
