Very good point, actually. When you look at the ratio of black players becoming managers compared to the white equivalents, there is indeed a huge disparity. No doubt about that. However, the one & only assumption made is that this is because the black players are not considered to be good enough to be managers. That might be true, but how do we know if this is true or not? Perhaps the black players aren't interested. Perhaps many of the foreign black players 'go home' at the end of their playing career & become managers in their home country? Who knows? Personally, I'd love to see the ratios of players applying to do their coaching badges. Now if it was a 50/50 split between black & white players, for instance, then the original assumption might indeed be relevant, but I'm pretty sure that the ratio going for their badges is more likely to reflect the 'going into management' ratio, rather than the '50/50' ratio. Anyone know if it's possible to get the 'badge' numbers?
Think the field got damaged with the likes of Luke Moore who failed at WBA and not forgetting the best English manager (in his own head) Sol Campbell. I believe their are more black players doing their badges now but obviously need some success as coaches before getting a managers job. There are also hundreds of white managers out of work so its a tough nut to crack and remember that even in L1 the fashion is still to go overseas for a manager which makes it even harder for English managers of any skin shade. So is football anti English or anti UK. Too easy and lazy to just say footy is racist
Watched the game myself but it wasn't something I noticed or have ever noticed to be honest. It seems your attempts at humour are outdated by about 40 years, so whilst someone of my Dad's generation might have a little chortle the rest of the world has moved on. Maybe it's time to look for some new material as you're still a relative youngster, but that's assuming you're genuinely attempting to bring amusement to the forum and not just making comments to agitate and provoke posters who find such comments unacceptable.
I'll bite Jammy. I know you are in cahoots with your Harrogate buddy and are trying to get me in trouble and banned over the most innocent and innocuous comments I make that you perceive as being racist. I don't feel I was being racist, merely IMO a humorous observation, which you have pounced upon to try to stir the ****. Now if you want to stop being so high and mighty and hypocritical and get off your sanctimonious stool for a moment, please have ago at any posters who were slagging off the Rep of Ireland team and calling them Paddies. But you won't and you'll come back with some long winded response to support your warped far left, blm leanings.
@Jammy 07 , meet sober (& hurting) Shako. Be afraid. Be very afraid ...... Off now to look for my tin hat & binoculars.
Its far from racist Este, but the guilt ridden UK hating lefty snowflakes wont stop moaning about it. They see racism in everything except from people like Abbott, lammy, Butler, Joshua, Femi, Shah, Khan, etc etc.
Nope no agenda on my part. Happy to hear no racism was intended but still think your attempt at humour belongs to a different time.
I think I'd remember WJ...anyway I was tucked up in bed with my mill hill kebab, when those reprobates were out perving.
Who can tell anyone what kind of humour they should like or dislike Jammy, just because some lily livered lefty gets upset at Benny Hill or Bernard Manning doesnt mean they should stop listening because it upsets someone else. Have you ever seen a chris Rock stand up routine? The man is funny as ****
