I wasn't talking about the owners etc Jammy, I've never cared about the owners or the backroom politics, I've only ever cared about the team and supporters and having a good pint before during and after the game. As always you're entitled to your opinion, but personally for me and my family it was a great time.
Agreed, none of the politics of today and clearing those points in 5 matches and sticking two fingers up at the League and FA and all those anti Leeds Utd ****s was very satisfying.
I'm with you it was better thsn now. Prem league to me is like three leagues and not being able to attend at all is dire. Fans been ripped off by rads and co being sold memberships that are useless. So now it's the club ripping the supporters off. But as jammy says it's so much better. Sorry jammy lad but i can't afford feckin corporate.
I mean, that first season in league one. We were -15 points. We had no players. The chairman and owners were obviously ripping the club off. We nearly folded completely. We didn't own a ground, training facility. The glory hunters didn't stay and help out. We were completely ****ed. The joy was there were 18-22k die hard fans that united and pushed those players beyond what they were capable of doing whilst the psychology of us vs the world made everybody doubly passionate and vocal. I've never been as proud to be a fan as I was those first 5 games. However, in defence of Jammy, the ultimate goal was to get the Chelsea out of Leeds. Stick it up the football league. Get the stadium and training facilities back, invest in the youth set up again and get the club out of debt and back in the top division. All those goals have been achieved now and I love it back in the Prem. I just wish I could get tickets for me and my son who is desperate to go. Last I heard I couldn't even buy a membership.
What's better is that Ken Bates no longer has any association with our club. Not really fussed what league we're in and would have happily supported us a a non league club to get rid of Bates. The EFL caved in and gave him our golden share to compete in their competitons even though Bates would not/could not state who actually owned us. Fifteen points was a mere slap on the wrist and we should have been expelled and thrown out altogether to force the truth out of the old curmudgeon.
Me and my son have had a membership for years, tried for every game bar 3, up to the Villa game, not got lucky once. They've sold too many memberships and are pissing folk off with how they've gone about it.

Must admit I have given up trying, I don't even look now. I will not be renewing my membership again, I was fed up with how Rads treated fans a few years ago at the Austrian pre season tour and now losing the will to be bothered. Will always support the team but from a distance after this season.
Talking about membership, you're meant to get free LUTV, I'm still paying monthly for LUTV and even after emailing them I still haven't received the code.
