Morning all When Bielsa was first rumoured to be coming to the club,i just felt their was a change coming,& most importantly Radz/Orta were learning something from their mistakes, most importantly no more shyte at the club, here was a manager who has managed at the highest level, possibly coming to Leeds WOW,could we possibly pull it off.Leeds mean something to us & we remember what a great club we once were, but to a foreign manager it would probably be a case of Leeds who ?,but great credit to orta/radz for pursuing this, for what seemed forever at the time, but we got our man. The whole club has now changed from top to bottom in such a short space of time.Top six i was hoping for after our opening six games & keeping my fingers crossed.never in a million years would i have thought we would be top, with much the same players as last season & looking a more than a capable team, keep on like this who knows where it will all end,i used to dream of those big european nights to return,i now sure they will & not in the to distant future either.Leeds are back & with these guys at the helm,so will the european nights.MOT
Good Morning to the sheriff and his posse from a chilly Bardsey Well done to the award winners I was thinking last night who can potentially who can compete for the top 6 and I came up with a list of 8 Boro Derby Brentford WBA Aston v Sheff Utd Notts Forest and Swansea The others will be just make up the league
, Out of a matter interest does anyone know what he is doing now ? as he was rumoured to be an up & coming manager with great potential, who could get teams moving,Well he certainly did that with Barnsley & us unfortunately in the wrong direction. However i am in his debt, because his ineptitude was the catalyst for what is now happening at the club.
Heckingbottom had a lot to say earlier in the season why things did not work out for him at ER! "I enjoyed it, but it was frustrating. "You will always be judged on results but for me personally I would swap places with Marcelo straight away. "There were lots of reasons it didn't work. "The obvious one that people speak about is the squad of players and certain things are always said about that. "There were bigger things for me - you can only change the players at the end of the season but for me the working culture needed to be different at the club. "There are people involved in performance and looking after the players and making sure they can enjoy the best performance they can and then there are others that shouldn’t and that's one of the things as well as the squad of players that needed changing. "There were obvious differences to what I expected but it was different to how the role that was set out to me as well and it was more that. "I knew the players and I knew the team but until you were in the building and see how things work behind the scenes - they were the things that needed changing. "Ultimately you can get results early doors and you are just papering over the cracks of what's not quite working. "One thing about Leeds is they have so many people involved and they all like to be known to be involved instead of just being in the background away from the players - letting the coach get on with managing the players, letting the coach get on with generating the right environment around the players to be pushing and to all be geared towards performance and that is not quite there. "I know that changes have been made this season to sort of help implement that - for me that is the biggest thing and the biggest thing they need to change to be competing at the top end."
All very true. Had we given him another season we could have been clear leaders now having won all our games, instead of having a few teams nipping at our heels #bielsaisntgoodenough
This time last season we were top with same number of points, unbeaten and same number of goals. Last season we thought TC was god and Radz was brilliant and then the wheels came off. The same players were useless and its very very obvious what the problems were and down to TC being a useless manager. The same players are doing brilliant things this season but the difference is Bielsa will not allow a drop off in quality and performance level. These same players are now talking about never been fitter, looking at what they eat, stopped drinking, short career needs extending by looking after themselves. These good players were not top players but now thinking like top players. This is the Bielsa affect and I have never been more confident of us at least making top 6 this season. Heckingbottom was just a poor mans Big Mick
Good morning Matt & everyone from a rainy, windswept Northumbria, also had wi-fi network problems now resolved thankfully
Morning all. Sorry not to be joining in with the euphoria but still keeping my feet firmly on the ground. Still only six games in but I admit I never expected us to be unbeaten and top when I saw the opening fixtures. But with our bogey team coming up, that derailed the season at exactly the same game (I think), coupled with the curse of the manager & player of the month award, is leaving me even more nervous than usual.
Not surprised we are overloaded with U23's as we seem to have brought in millions please log in to view this image All paying off now as the U23's are unbeaten this season so we can afford to get rid of the dead-legs within the squad
With regards Klich his comments says it all about Bielsa's management We can add yet another reason why our players look so different this season, yesterday it was Pontus is not drinking alcohol now we have the food nutrition/diet aspect of Bielsa's methods to maintain our players are fit & healthy
Surely it was a formality that Marcelo would be manager of August & Roofe player of the month. Both thoroughly deserved
