I hope all the confidence in meslier is well placed, I think the lads done well but he’s barely had a save to make that wasn’t regulation. The club doesn’t seem in a hurry to get a new keeper which suggests they have confidence in him. my comment on BPF was a joke, I just watched the NI game last night and he was outstanding, made some brilliant saves.
The U23s had another pre season game yesterday against Man City and Sam Greenwood got off the mark in a 1-1 draw. Not a bad result
It seems a deal has been agreed with Dynamo Zagreb for the young Josko Gvardiol, and should be completed next week. Promising player who’s a unit and can play left side CB or left back which gives us exactly what we need to cover for Cooper. Expensive for a potential bench sitter at £18m but he is probably the most famous present player in Croatia right now, everyone loves him. Bielsa obviously wants this kid
Like you say just what we need but maybe he will be better than cooper. If he signs then at least we won't see Alioski there which is a blessing.
From everything I’m hearing and what a few respected journos have said it looks like we will have a surprise package on the bench this coming season. It seems Bielsa is mesmerised by the talent and work ethic and guts of Joe Gelhardt. The kid has settled in and turns it on every day. Its about time we found a kid who is capable of handling big games against big players at a young age. Terry Connor and James Milner were the last youngsters to do it at a young age in the top league. This is why I get upset about Tyler Roberts who was supposed to be the next big thing, and has spent 3 years not doing it. Maybe WBA knew he wasn't going to do it so sold him to us for big money. Young Joe we got cheap because the club went bust and they didnt want to sell him and plenty of people have called us robbers for stealing him.
I like the fact Bielsa is investing in youth. Even though he’ll only be here maybe two more years at the most, and won’t be around to see this young talent come to fruition, he’s demonstrating a selflessness that few other coaches possess. Setting the club up nicely for the future.
It’s a huge amount of money for a very inexperienced kid... but (YouTube clip disclaimers obviously) from the clips I watched when he was first linked he looked a really classy footballer.

Seems to be fun and games going on at Brentford as West Ham have just told them to fooook off with the price they want for Benrhama and Villa are also flinching at the Watkins price and £100k per week demands. As much as I would love to have these 2 players I prefer to have actual proven Internationals at a cheaper price. The way things are going Brentford could be left with 2 players they expected to cash in on and watch the valuation collapse
Looks like Bielsa’s coaches will be using ipads during matches as the new tech gives live real-time data output. We know how Bielsa loves data and analytics. I bet the club have spent a bomb on stuff Bielsa wants behind the scenes
