Bielsa: "I wouldn't criticise a team who play long balls. I wouldn't criticise anyone waiting instead of attacking. I wouldn't criticise any team that plays hard rather than create. But what I like is what I said. It doesn't mean my philosophy is the best one." Bielsa joking that the rules should be that press conference end after half an hour, to stop everyone getting bored. Bielsa: "I'm in a place which is bigger than what I deserve. My goal is to show that I deserve this opportunity I was given. But I don't want to be a demagogue. When I speak I try not to please people. When I speak I try not to lie." Bielsa: "We are close to the point where we have the right competition in every position." Bielsa: "Working for Newell's Old Boys was the happiest moment of my career." Says Marseille and Bilbao were unique too. "This experience will have similiarities to the clubs I mentioned. Football, even if people think we work for money, is a search for strong emotions." Bielsa: "It's better to have emotions than count money. Sometimes we learn this late. When you have enough money, emotions are a lot more important."
Crikey! He's still modest & self-deprecating after a career like his. Most unusual in such an ego-driven industry (yes, industry now - used to be a sport).
Tell me about this Jenson I have never heard of him. Is he an interceptor or does he deliver passes on a button?
Lukas Nmecha is the latest young Man City player we are being linked with, played a couple of games for City and pre season friendlies, scoring against none other than Bayern Munich.Looks a good addition, lets hope it happens.
seen this one earlier this morning and i think this is the sort of player we need to be loaning.not your usual dross like past seasons.
They do,have a great one,but champions league football will probably mean he will go to Turkey again.
Unless Pep thinks Bielsa’ s style of football suits his development better (I add in hope more than expectation). If the Pennington rumours are true he might work better in back three as the “ball playing CB”.
Thought this was interesting in the Grauniad: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/aug/04/leeds-united-marcelo-bielsa He's certainly a one-off our Mr Bielsa!
More i read the more i like, love that bit about the boot print on the wall, one thing is for sure,he won't tolerate lack of effort,if someone plays with out effort/passion they'l find that boot print on their backside, and their is plenty of candidates from last season who had better look out.
Who said anything about nice.. Wtf did you do last night? as bucks thinks it’s my fault I might as well know.
