    This deal could go through today.

    Leeds are in advanced talks with Chelsea about signing Lewis Baker on a permanent deal.

    Baker was on loan with Boro last season, though his opportunities were also limited to 12 appearances.

    Leeds see Baker as a good fit for the formation and tactics planned by new head coach Marcelo Bielsa.

    Baker was capped almost 20 times by England at Under-21 level.

    He's a central midfielder, though he can play attacking or defensive midfield as well.

    My only concern about this Baker lad is that we already have Saiz & Pablo at #10. So why sign him, unless ..... ?

    I hope Pablo can stick the pace of the new slimmer,fitter Leeds but age may catch up if we play as high a tempo as we are led to believe we will.

    I guess someone who couldn’t make the Boro side doesn’t get the juices flowing but same could be said for foreshaw and I’m quite happy with him. Not seen the lad play.

    As long as it’s not the ‘big’ signing. If it is we’re dooooooomed I tell you doooooomed.
