Apart from the odd game,I always thaught of him as a lazy disinterested player, that had a lot of talent if he put his mind to it,and wouldn't have minded one bit if he went. But you have come up with an excellent point, agree with your thinking that Bielsa & better players, might just get the best out him, could then possibly set the championship alight.so yes worth a punt till January :emoticon-0148-yes:

He was excellent the first few games of the season, he probably realised after those games he had a lot of crap around him, hence he kept the ball to himself, with better players to give the ball to he may shine again

To finance the Bamford deal though it has now been made clear we are not signing Vidra so we don't need to sell

Disclaimer is, I don’t know who is the better player or privileged to see what Bielsa sees on the training field...

On social media Leeds fans seem split 50/50 as to whether we should sign Vydra as a number 10 behind a striker or if he should displace Roofe. Derby fans who have joined in have said Vydra is nothing special on his own but as a number 10 he is a handful.

We’re going to play with three CBs and Phillips in front of them, Douglas and Ayling out wide, with the Keeper that leaves 4 positions, if we’re getting Bamford he is going to replace Roofe so under the Bielsa system that currently leaves Klich, Baker, Alioski, Saiz, Hernandez, Forshaw, Dallas, Vieira fighting it out for three positions.

I’ve said all along under this system Hernandez, Alioski and Saiz cannot fit into a Bielsa formation, his style of play and tempo is no good for those three together. Reading reports it seems Alioski is currently the weakest link, Klich is deserving of a place and getting to the point, I’d prefer Vydra over Saiz with Hernandez an impact sub player.

I agree with Leeds60 if getting Bamford and Vydra was possible but only by selling Saiz I’d say go for it. Hernandez is also a number 10, he isn’t a wide left attacker.

Again just trying to think logically with the players and coach we currently have. We’ve the money to buy a new Striker, if we can get Vydra as a number 10 something has to give because we can’t afford the luxury of three of them, we need to keep Roofe as Roberts is too injury prone.

Think Vydra deal is dead... i’d still quite like hugil on loan as a bit of beef up front, something different to what we have.

Saiz is an enigma... best player we had first half of the season. Waste of space after spit gate. Like others I thought in principle he might improve with better players around him, but could be his decision making just sucks. By all accounts has been rank pre season. I’d like us to hold on to him though. Alioski is a trier but just not good enough and too slow and lightweight in my most humble of opinions.

I see your point Ristac, it's getting complicated and complex like a jigsaw puzzle at moment with nothing really being settled.

Personally, I'd like to keep Saiz. I know he had a somewhat below average 2nd half of last season after the spitting incident, but so did every player; and it came out after there were problems tween players and manager.

I think maybe Saiz was trying to behave himself after spitting incident. The fans put him on a pedestal, and I think it may have gone to his head a bit, as it did Jansson; he didn't have a great 2nd half season either.

With the Vydra deal now seemingly dead, Saiz could step up with a boot from Bielsa. We know he's got the skills, and is prepared to be creative during a game, based on that alone he'll be very valuable.

Klich I think is going to bring out the better in Alioski, Saiz and Hernandez if on field together, I think Klich can be that missing link along side Forshaw and relieve some of the pressure from him.

Pre season games are not much to go on as there's not much to play for. Players won't want to get injured, and the challenges, and enthusiasm wouldn't be as great, even though they should be.

First 5 to 8 games will give everyone a better picture......

If our pre season games are anything to go by, Bielsa needs to have something up his sleeve, and a plan B as his system may not be workable / playable in championship.

Picking up on Klich bringing the best out of Alioski, Hernandez and Saiz with Forshaw alongside, there are not enough squad positions left, you’re trying to fit 5 players into three available positions.

Read up on Bielsa, under him we won’t be seeing the formations used for the past two seasons, the negative stuff you read about Bielsa? He is unwilling to change <ok>

I think watching Saiz he has been got at by offers from Spain and this has affected his performances hence I suggested at £9m we sell him to finance Bamford

Misunderstanding, yours and my fault....:emoticon-0105-wink:, I did say if on pitch together. I should've said any 1, or 2 of them on pitch with Klich at same time......I'm sure one of Bielsas formations will cater for it at some time, hasn't he used about 4 different formations or something.

I think most coaches don't change, they all seem to be creatures of habit, same habit/s. To be honest, I don't think most of'em know how to change cos they only know one way......:emoticon-0148-yes:

Don't know, I was pissed. They were through anyway...Ireland were beaten 1-0 by England in the Hockey World Cup this evening in London, but still finish top of Pool B and will face Italy or India in the quarter-finals. <ok>
