I know you're joking but he genuinely may be our best attacking option for the bench. Granted that's only because we currently have absolutely no attacking options on the bench.
In fact. What have we actually got to lose by sticking big Jay-Roy up front at this point. There's at least a small chance it might bounce off his big head from a corner and go in.
Afternoon all, no to the draw as I think Brentford are going to do a Sheffield United and drop very few points, if they beat WBA tonight their confidence will be sky high, we need to put some daylight between us or at least maintain it.
Apparently he had surgery in February and may or may not be back very soon depending on who you listen to. I heard somewhere that Bielsa said he was on the verge of breaking into the first team before his injury but how many times have we heard that about a player. Verge of first team > 3 months injury > 3 months "not quite fit yet" > Repeat
Completely forgot about him. Two goals in 22 games for Vitesse Arnhem this season. I don't think he's the answer.
Played mostly on the left for Vitesse this season. He has done ok for them. Not saying he is the answer, just giving him a fair go.
Afternoon all, We're going to win tomorrow. No doubt in my mind. Our Achilles heel is teams who park the bus, & we struggle to score against them. Fulham are not that way inclined, so the gaps we thrive on will be there for us to find. It's also very unlikely that we'll give away 2 soft goals again, or even 1 for that matter. We've only conceded 32 goals in 38 games - the best in the league (only Brentford come close, btw), so that's not a worry. We're also the 4th top scorers - only WBA, Brentford & believe it of not, QPR (on -5 GD!!) beat us. So we're well set stats-wise, & therefore odds-wise. We got a helluva fright last game - not just that we were beaten, but the manner of it, & our below-par performance. It won't happen again. It was, imo, worth the 3 points to give the team the shake-up they needed. Absolutely no chance of complacency or lack of conviction now! We also have Bielsa - the biggest weapon in our armoury. I think everyone's right about Brentford being a bigger danger than Fulham, but we're an even bigger danger to them, plus we have an 8 point cushion. And finally, I don't believe either Edmondson or Grot will get any game time. I read on FB that Edmondson was served by a Leeds fan in his drive-in (McDonalds, Costa? Didn't say) & he apparently said that he's recovered from his op & is fully fit & raring to go. Fine, but you don't break in a new striker in a run-in like this, do you? Same for Grot - are people really wanting to make the same mistake again & play the boy up front on his own? He's always been on the left of a front 3 to play well. He's also not done the Bielsa tactics / fitness immersion, so frankly, no chance. I think that Bielsa has already tested & been happy(-ish?) with Harrison at CF, if push comes to shove, so the other 2 are non-starters. 3-1. Easily.
We have all talked about the main teams to fear, whether it be Brentford or Fulham, surely the only team who could spoil our promotion push is Ourselves, My best mate, who is an avid Southampton supporter and i are so looking forward to seeing them play at st mary's next season, surely ffs we can't screw it up again,-------------SURELY NOT
