Honestly not on any kind of wind up, more genuinely interested...

Was there any chance you could have supported Hull or Newcastle then ?

I don’t actually have an issue with those who don’t have a high quality domestic league and pick a (normally) Premier League team to support, be that in Ireland, Africa, China, or anywhere else.

Hull’s currently full of Liverpool fans, all banging on about winning the league, most of them have never been anywhere near Anfield. I just don’t get it.

Moved to London early 80’s, moved back early 90’s, but kept a second home in London (as my business was based there) until 2012. No lack of ambition here I can assure you.

Nope......My mother like her brother supported Liverpool, my Dad was a Newcastle fan, but my mothers uncles were Leeds Utd. My Grandad was in the merchant navy and that's why my mother moved to Liverpool(supported them) from Ull and then ended up in Ireland. I know it's ****ing complicated.<doh>

That's fair enough and I know I'll get abuse for saying this, but I do respect you for following your home town team and in a way I'm envious.<ok>

<laugh> I lived in six places in London and one of them was actually half a mile from Highbury, but it never occurred to me to go to a game. I was young free and single and football wasn’t a priority, it was all about sex, drugs and rock and roll.

What about when you were sat in the North Bank, did it occur to you, that you might be at a game.
