Morning all, much ado about nothing, imo. Who says there actually is a £7.8m buyout clause in Bielsa? Odd figure in sterling. $10m in USD, by coincidence. To me, that gives a clue to the source of this 'story', and makes me immediately suspicious. For all we know, there might not even be a buyout clause! Never heard of one for a manager before, hence the oft-used term of 'compensation' when pinching a manager. You never hear of a manager having his buyout clause triggered. Or do you & I've missed it?
But i tell you what,by the sounds of it their's a lotta pi**** off people out their,whose annoyed we got Bielsa,and will say anything in the media to try and de stabilise & upset the apple cart,and that's all it is.
Had a quick check & I think you're right. Strangely, he signed a new contract with Barnsley only days before we poached him. Most unusual to have such a clause, and most unusual to sign a contract only to move only days later. I'm no expert, but substantial evidence suggests that people are well aware of interest them before it hits the press. Suspicious & odd behaviour all round imo.
