Agree 100% and that makes perfect sense to you me and everyone else. Im just pointing out the debt must be serviced first whether by sales our incoming investment as Rads said he cant afford to service it, which is fine. He said players must be sold each season to balance the books didnt he? We hope its the investment route or like you said well actually be going backwards. Im only quoting the figures as reported by Hay and hes usually on the money. Lumping the sales together every season and expecting it all to go on new players has never happened with us and I tend not to expect it as it fills me with false optimism. God forbid Id ever be accused of that
Just a thought that crossed my mind today... If Chelsea have a transfer ban how can they consider signing Lampard for a fee, okay he is a coach not a player now but theoretically should it be allowed?
Reckon you're being a bit optimistic, so will alter to my version. I also expect add-ons have already been added in the bid for Clarke, btw. Forshaw £3m =£1m now and £1m yr2 and £1m yr3 Saiz £1m = £0.5m now and £0.5m yr2 Cibicki £1m = £0.5m now and £0.5m yr2 Ideguchi £1m =£0.5m now and £0.5m yr2 Ekuban £900k = £0.45m now and £0.45m yr2 Clarke £9m = £3m now and £3m yr2 and £3m yr3 + add ons Total now =£5.5m plus last £5m from Wood sale, last £2m compensation from Taylor sale, & £2.5m from Vieira sale, so £9.5m to add to the £5.5m, totalling £15m. Plus whatever we get for Danny Rose. The thing is, these headline numbers can't be relied on. VAT swallows 20%, and the agents at least that & prolly more, so we only have a kitty of £7-8m imo. And that's a good year! And yet some want 3-5 £10m players with exorbitant wages AND expect us not to make a loss. I really do feel for Radz at times.
I like your thinking, but it ain't gonna happen. Transfer fees are paid to transfer player registrations. Chelski are paying compensation to Direby to release Pampared from his contract, and no registration is required for that. Then again, Chelski are in such dire straights that he might have to pull on his boots again! .
That's why he's gone to QSI for investment / sell part of the club, to cover the loss for last season.
The time to have gambled and rolled the dice was last January, just a little additional quality to get us over the line (that said, I still think the players choked - again). I just can't see this squad doing as well as last season without some additions.
Don't worry Eire, just popped across to JA to read as it's been quiet on here. Poster there called Jonty makes you look like a ****ing LUFC cheerleader
