Morning SW, quite rightly, as the club have under delivered for so long, they want to get back to the top flight yesterday. You're absolutely right by what you're saying about the way the club is being run at the moment.
The thing about Viera is that Bielsa was consulted and said he is 3rd choice in his position, which then meant Radz overriding Bielsa by saying that Viera isnt in Bielsas team and a £7m player doing nothing on the pitch means his valuation drops, so I'm cashing in. I get that and agree with that. Yesterday bielsa says he wants a squad of 22, 18 first teamers and 4 kids to improve/educate. He wants 2 players for every position, so looks to me like he is still looking at CBs and will probably bring in a loanee. If he brings in a DM/CM player he will have to be better than Viera and maybe Klich. I think Forshaw is first choice. The team that made us proud last week still has all our new signings waiting to get in. That can only mean we have had a good transfer window. Bielsa starts with the same team that started against Stoke, so BPF holds onto the No1 shirt and I'm guessing anyone who screws up will be hooked off and replaced with the likes of Harrison, Pontus, Bamford etc. A great place to be
Morning Doc, only thing I'd say is most teams use a lot more then 22 players across the entire season. I hope Bielsa isn't underestimating the Championship. Have to say I love what he has done so far.
1976/81 before sponsors started appearing, then the Strongbow shirt when sponsors ruined them mainly because I remember some great modern day players wearing it
Ell in an interview Bielsa said 22 players is the optimum squad size as you only need 2 players per position to cover for red cards and injuries. His words not mine and he actual qualified it by saying the Championship and cup games means 50 games and 22 players will be more than ample to do 50 games each season. He has a philosophy that wont stand any passengers, non triers and players who moan about tiredness. Love him already
