My old man used to train at White City Stadium, way back in the day.

Think it might be where Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile? My dad knew him from training anyway (not very well).

By the power of google, I make you right. The 1908 Olympics, when the athletes were somewhat hindered by having to compete in enormous shorts, moustaches and Brylcreem.

I was wrong about Roger Bannister though - he broke the 4 minute mile at Oxford.

‘When asked if that was his proudest moment, Sir Roger replied that he was more proud of his contribution to Medical Research as a Neuro Surgeon and academic scientist.’

They don’t make Brits like that anymore; eradicate a disease in the morning, break an athletic World Record in the afternoon. At weekends, stride boldly across Antarctica equipped only with a tweed jacket and a rolled up copy of The Times.

My school backed on to The Scrubs. I knew a couple of nurses who lived on-site at Hammersmith Hospital and they used to flash their tits at the prisoners looking out of their cell windows. White City stadium was where the Olympics were held and the White City Estate was the old athlete's village. The White City was an exhibition where the place was decorated in painted white stucco, lakes and gondolas were part of the entertainment. White City Stadium was also home to Queens Park Rangers for a while. Knocked down and is now buildings used by the BBC.

It is far from White these days.

Here's Glasgow's very own White City Stadium (on the left) during the "Empire Exhibition' and you can see the Old Lady top of the photo.

Looks like the old model of Minty's planning for the Govan version of Chelsea village sans Hoverpitch and casino.

    See John Barnes defending him,
"As much as people are now jumping on this bandwagon of how terrible it is, what he's done is he's come out and he's told the truth."

"Let's take down that statue that of Winston Churchill who is a white supremacist and a mass murderer," added Barnes.

But what Churchill did was fine because it was during a period in history when being a racist was acceptable whereas when Neeson had those thoughts there was no such thing as racism so that makes him a racist.

    Or something.

Churchill called his depression " the black dog", pretty confronting language for this abolitionist .

Was it fuzzy-wuzzies in South Africa that Churchill was meant to have murdered? Do Germans count in WW2? Darkie historian was saying the bombing of Germany in WW2 was a war crime because civilians were killed. Not sure what he thought of Britain being bombed by the Germans though. I doubt any of his tribe were living in England in the 1940s despite anyone and everyone trying to pretend that there was a "significant" negro presence in Britain as far back as the Romans.

Yes, Grove, because it's only racism if it's against black people.
