You've forgotten Welsh cuisine AJ, we are only a half hour away in Welshpool- Bara Brith, yum yum.
 
welsh cuisine a speciality- cawl, bara bridd, welsh cakes, welshpool oggies and finally welsh blob fish when in season. borth cockles sauted in machynlyth stout, fresh water prawns hand picked from the river mawddach.

vintage wines and ports to suit all tastes
 
And Welsh ales such as Otley Ales, Felinfoel, Brains, Purple Moose etc

Plus west mid ales. I quite like a Titanic beer to name but one. Enville, Oakhams, Bathams etc.
Are Reg Mays pork pies included?

Welshpool oggies? I live in Welshpool and i've never heard of them. I'll ask mum. Although i wouldn't put it past us to eat Blob Fish:laugh:

'When under water the Blob fish has an comical, almost human looking face however if taken out of water the Blob fish will die after a short while and is gelatinous body will dry out and shrivel no longer resembling the typical way people think of Blob fish'.

With that in mind, I suggest you stay out in the rain at all times Rocky & NEVER enter any building with a roof, be it a gay club or not.

perhaps it is time to alter the name to "the loggerheads", and for our moderator to confirm a sticky please.as for ales the new manager will have a policy of 4 ales on regularly and 2 guest ales. the 4 regulars are waddys 6x, shropshire lad, town crier and bathams best. next weeks guest ales are holdens golden and titanic. any regular ales may be changed to suit members pallets

next years outing is being arranged, a sea fishing boat trip to barmouth in june. and a land cruise on the fairbourne railway and ale at rhe cann office llangadfan on return

the landlords have announced the loggerheads will be closed on christmas day

have we any suggestions for filling the vacancy of manager

Rocky - You haven't lived untill you've tried Titanic Stout or Titanic Iceberg.

AJ - do we have to have Wood's beers? Canna stand em!!

Perhaps a clean thread with a good opening post might be good? If I have time i'll set one up...
 
we only have one woods shropshire lad. the members can get the acting manager to change it. personally i like wye valley ales, luvrly. i don't know if you can get it up there but i am spoilt down here by otter ale and teignworthy beachcomber ale.

loggerheads diary.

october 6th autumn outing to the railway inn yorton. 7.30 for 8. aj is provisionally" on one" tonight as he starts a 4 day state visit to yorton and ludlow
 
I've had Otter Ale and Beachcomber (probably in the Three Fishes) and Wye Valley are always good quality.

<badger> beer is always good too.

Butcombe Ale :emoticon-0136-giggl always gets a titter in a school boy way!
