please log in to view this image Bliemy it's quiet in here tonight. Mines a pint of Dorothy Goodbody's Wholesome Stout and a pack of dry roasted please.
ah dorothy goodbody's. is that wye valley brewery of holme lacey hereford? i do love their butty bach, sometimes on sale in the church inn ludlow. a fabulous pub for ales.
i noticed in the fiction section, the camra good beer guide have dropped the excellent church inn at ludlow and substituted the queens in lower galdeford ludlow. i am sure both are excellent pubs, but dropping the church inn is almost as crass a decision as removing the railway inn. may i wish the camra shropshire committee all the best in the 2013 booker prize for the best book of fiction. camra has become just like watneys, a shadow of their former selves!
er of course the railway inn at yorton. where excellent ale is served by mine hostess liz newnes, and for shrews supporters there is a 1950 photo of shrewsbury town fc hanging in the bar. the railway inn yorton, thankfully almost as it was 75 years ago when southams ales sold it off as a free house to the newnes family. floreat salopia, floreat liz newnes!
the gas are about to open a reallity pub on their boards. favourite name at present is blackbeards tavern. do hope they have wickwar ales on.
your executive committee's ales sub committee have met to discuss the profitability of our draught ales, lagers and ciders. after discussion it has been decided to drop the friends of the urinals lager, and sadly it is becoming difficult to obtain regular suppies of green valley cider. our future ales etc will be= ales ------ wadworths 6x , bathams best, holdens golden and town crier plus 2 guest ales when available lager ------ heineken cider ------- westons old rosie.
aj is proud to announce tonight in the loggerheads club that he has been persuaded by the friends of dock green, to allow his name to go forward to stand for the position of police commissioner in devon and cornwall in may 2016. aj is confident with a light balmy night of winning the election providing he can grasp at least 4.5 % of the vote. ello ello ello, vote aj, vote dock green !
.....decided to have a Ruby Murray with my old skittles mates.....some good ales.....Bays and a couple of Xmas brews from Dorset and Somerset. Will be back in to see Betsy Swallows soon!
bays brew excellent ales at their brewery near paignton torbay. bays gold is frequently on tap in my local. today east devon hunt are meeting in the carpark at 11am. a chance for aj to imbibe some free port and or scotch. after that aj will be ready to take on freddy flintoff, but strongly advises freddy to wear a cricket box in view of aj's limited reach! er and height!
why does rocky insist on coming to the loggerheads at 5am and proclaiming it is quiet in here!. it gives the club a bad name, and no he will not get a hotpot from betty swallocks at 5am. i am suprised he still coming to our club now that your executive committee have removed friends of the urinals lager! your executive committee reminds members the agm of the club is on january 7th and your committee will be submitting themselves for re-election. there are at least 3 vacancies to be filled. sir watfitzme fitzgerald hon chairman.
Haven't dropped over here for a while, but was wondering how you chaps were finding life in League 1 after our miserable experience last year? Do you think the jump is really that big as some teams seem to find themselves mid table or pushing for promotion? I know Waddock was probably guilty for signing so many poor players for us and then we were reliant on loanees. That was great until their loans were up. The team we finished the season with probably belonged more to the rest of league 1 than Wycombe. Anyway we are now skint. Our sugar daddy has been ousted, though we still owe him £2m, but things are looking brighter. Even Ainsworth scored yesterday and yes it did go over the line! Good luck to you all for the rest of the season
welcome to our humble club. great win for the wobblers yesterday. life is to quote mr kipling exceedingly tough in league 1. our chances of staying here are heavily dependent on the size of our chairmans wallet and how wisely the manager uses its contents in january. so far the manager has tried to build the squad on a shrewstring with a succession of lemon loanees, with disastrous results, most of whom have gone back to the club lemon trees to ripen. hopefully our youth will be brought on and supplemented by up to 4 decent players in january. which may leave us in 20th place but safe. good luck to the wobblers and the gas, who may provide a cushion for us if it goes tits up at the meadow. sometimes it feels better in the top 6 of L2 than trawling the depths of a higher league. hey ho onwards and upwards, as they say. floreat salopia, please.
god it is dead on here rocky, the liveliest thing to happen is some american inviting us to add to his ladies rounder threads, or perhaps that is baseball. anyway we have as many takers for nfl as there are for the shrews. where the bh is everyone
