your executive committee has had to bow to inland revenue rules and regulations and add 20% vat to all hot pies pastries and pasties. cold variations will continue at existing prices. reg mays pork pies remain at normal price unless anyone wants a hot one!

Useless fact for for you - rowing the oxford/cambridge boat race burns the same amount of calories as you would consume in one packet of crisps!

Not counting my chickens -so six.

On the subject of the Boat Race. Well done BBC for winning back the contract from ITV whilst losing the important horse races. Got to keep the Cameron/Osborne set happy as they trill along to the Eton Boating Song.

we need 5 wins. i do wish the bbc would get rid of the london marathon, athletics, great north run etc to dave broadcasting, also the olympics could be up for grabs. the bbc should do what they are good at, final score, match of the day, the occasional viewing of a championship match .

new sports could be outdoor bowling, rolling cheeses on the hill at gloucester, woolsack racing at tetbury, marbles shove halfpenny, indeed table skittles etc

and following todays controversial boat race, the bbc need to hang onto it. clare balding was an ace link person, with the swimmer in the water, oxfords broken oar, the oxford bow found collapsed in the bow of the boat.the race had to be stopped and re started . it was a classic bbc event and needs repeating. the excitement reached new peaks for me. well done bbc and well done clare balding, mercifully we were spared coverage of you in the bath

following the budget your executive committee are raising the price of all draught ales, ciders and lagers by 10p a pint. a policy decision to cease the sale of cigarettes has been made and these will not be replaced once sold. the price of wines, spirits and vintage port will be held until september when another general overall rise is planned.
your committee's policy is to always have a lower alcohol ale on sale at 15p a pint less than normal and wadworths henry ale is on sale at 2.20 a pint until another ale replaces it
