    Is one less.

    RIP Rodney Bewes!

Bloody great humour in its time.

Well I never knew he'd popped his clogs.
James Bolam never got on with him apparently.
    RIP.

Spending all day avoiding the England result only to find the game had been cancelled. One of the classics.
    RIP Rodney

Great series, shame about Bolam whose real life attitude stinks.

He is, but runs the place down every chance he gets. I loved his character in the Likely Lads, but in real life its a totally different story, Rodney Bewes on the other hand, spoke of his Northern roots with pride, its a shame that cant be said of Bolam. <ok>

    Oh what happened to you
    Whatever happened to me
    What became of the people
    We used to be

Do those words get any of you other not so young ones thinking about your times gone by ?

It makes me think about The Likely Lads and how good it was . . . . it's nice to reminisce as we get older (apparently) :emoticon-0100-smile

    Thanks for the reminder :emoticon-0105-wink:

You’re welcome ! But remember, you’re not old until you realise you are spending more time talking of your regrets rather than of your dreams

The best at the time - an iconic comedy of real life in real tough times - so sad that there seemed to be a falling out in real life with James Bolam
    RIP

Only too true in my case, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. Wonder who said that, memories gone as well. <bubbly>
To be serious, the period, the song and the shots of Newcastle also never fail to strike a note. <ok>

They are playing cards in a caravan, with Terry's sister and he went outside to splash his boots, and Thelma said what's he like !, and Terry's sister said "it's alright it's the only thing I know his had in his hand all day" ! .
