  2. If we cannot win it, then I would want Leicester to win it. Obviously, any team but Arsenal, for me.

However, I don't think Leicester will win it; neither do I think we will (although I live in hope, and will be gravely disappointed if we don't). I still think the real contest is between Arsenal and £ity.

That said, I do believe that Leicester have enough, now, in the tank to make the CL, which is why I believe that will seriously crash and burn next season (hence my "Leicester City Spiral Watch" thread.

I like Wenger, I really do. I think the issue is that the players get into a certain mindset... and theirs is one of always being the bridesmaid.
My own team is a much poorer example in that we've been so used to being **** that all the players seem to actually think they are.. kind of habit forming. As we ship out a lot of the old guard I'm hoping the collective belief that we at least a mid table side will come back.
Gooners need a new manager not cos they are poor... because they don't believe.
I'd pull out all of the stops to get Mourinho. He would guarantee them the title at least in his first couple of years.

  5. I agree, but it will come down to whether or not Gooners, as a whole, will accept Mourhino, bearing in mind the things he's said about Wenger and the club. He is to Gooners what Benitez is to Chavs, only far worse!

Mourhino at Arsenal would be frightening, especially for a Spurs fan!

Unfortunately I'm inclined to agree. Hope I'm wrong, obviously.

However, in terms of title winning experience, both Huth & Schwarzer were in the Chelsea squad that won the league. Half of our current squad were part of our Championship winning team. Different league but the Championship is a bloody tough league to win. And in terms of handling pressure, they would've been under immense pressure during the run in last year. A different type again but you've still got to deal with it & get results. A lot more riding on avoiding relegation.

It's still going to be the most remarkable achievement if we get top 4.

  7. Indeed, it would, Foxy.

I'm betting that if you had asked most Leicester fans, at the start of the season, you can take 4th spot now, or risk finishing outside the top 4 but have a crack at winning the title, most Leicester fans would have taken the former option.

If Leicester stay injury free then i think they will do it. A couple of injuries though and their struggle to stay in the top 4.

  10. Do you?

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Most Leicester fans thought they'd be battling relegation this season, so I have absolutely no doubts that they would have taken certain top 4 over a possible league title (and they could still end up with neither).

It any Leicester fan had been offered a top 4 finish before the start of the season, they'd have bitten your hand off!

After last season we'd probably have snapped your hand off for 10th!

Now, well anything is a possibility, it's all very unpredictable. I wouldn't even attempt a prediction, mainly because I'm to stunned to think straight o_O

Still a long way to go but whatever happens, we've ruffled some feathers for sure.

I'd have taken 4th at the start of the season.
I don't think there is a Leicester fan that could have envisaged what has happened this season.

..I predicted that we would be the 'surprise' team of the season..think I said 7th ..didn't think we would struggle..obviously they have surpassed my expectations. ..yesterday was incredible, our best performance. ..hopefully we can continue. ..all about the 'team' ..

  15. Bear in mind, though, Fossil, that we slaughtered £ity 5-1 earlier in the season. I don't think they have looked like a title-winning side at any point during this season, so far. It's purely the depth and strength of their squad that has kept them in the race.

I've been banging on about Leicester all season and was mocked at times with people saying it's just a purple patch but there was some method in my madness, I had noticed a good player in Vardy and Mahrez (I hadn't realised how good), I have always thought Schmeical had the potential to be a very good keeper, Huth was the other player I rated and there you have it that spine of players that makes a difference.

  19. Leicester fans have to hope that that spine isn't ripped out of them, in the Summer.

... you might be right about the depth of their squad enabling them to cope ... you beat them when they were on a poor run, had the reserve keeper in goal as well as Kompany out and equalised teir opener with a goal that should not have stood due to offside ... scorelines can be a bit deceptive ... for instance Joe Hart kept the scoreline down from five or six on Saturday ........... performances however are not deceptive... and we have just dismantled a team that were title favourites (at the start of the day) on their own patch ... and whilst you might not like our 'style' and Polly doesn't think we provide 'entertainment' ..... the vast majority of the footballing public patently disagree ... .
