I really don't see what your problem is, apart from anybody daring to try and spoil you coronation by pointing out that the 'King's clothes' are a bit raggy.

Yes, and you've scored the vast majority of them on the break using the pace of Mahrez & Vardy.

 

Well if possession was 100% to 0% you would have a case , but that's not the case . Leicester have the most lethal attack in the Premier .....quick and quiet while the opposing team is lured into carelessness with possession .

They scored the large majority of those goals in the counter, as you said yourself.

They will win the title with an average of 42% possession. The previous lowest of any title winner in the last 10yrs is 55%. It's a defense based system that hits on the counter. I have never said it wasn't effective.

 

... counter attacking does not mean defensive ... which you have implied on more than one occasion ... counter attacking football can be just as exciting (if not more so) than tiki-taka possession based football, given its' pace and purpose .... not to mention when it also involves the skill of players the like of Riyad Mahrez ... unquestionably the most exciting individual talent currently plying his trade in the EPL ...

 

Well, if you've 'counter attacked' it signifies that you were defending. It works very well for you.

Mahrez is a talented player. But if I had my pick of your players, I'd take Kante all day long.

 

... so if you have to defend for part of the game you are a defensive team? ... many Spuds seem to think that Alderweireld has been your player of the season ... I think that, plus only scoring 65 goals, must make you a defensive side ... I'd hate to have to watch that week in week out

 

As I've just put, you will win the title with just 42% average possession - the lowest in many years. 55% being the previous lowest in the last 10 years!

Anyway you want to look at it, a whole season of 42% possession average does not signify a side whose first aim is to attack.

... just as you must realise that lots of possession statistics don't mean that Leicester City are a defensive team or that Spuds brand of football is more exciting to watch ... so I'll leave it there ... other than just to comment that it's nice to see the Saints coming into some form ... a late push for Europe methinks ..

 

Not that it's a bad thing to do so, but how many of Leicester's goals have been on the break? Seems a myth to me that their game is all about that. Teams have had long enough to find a way to cope with their style and they keep winning. Even without Vardy they've smashed Swansea to pieces and matched United away.
