Nice try but that's come from the goverment department that will decide & announce the franchaise winner next February, namely us as it's between us and GWR with us being the preferred bidder.

This guard downgrading is coming from the mouthpiece franchaise holder GTR which is 4 TOC's under 1 franchaise, what's happening now with guards being downgraded was agreed so ST wouldn't lose out on the franchise as they were told they wouldn't retain it in their own right as before because basically they're a shower.

It's about 2 thirds of their 400 ST conductors that they're trying to downgrade, GTR are only the mouthpiece as this is all coming from Whitehall.
