Roberto Mancini and Sir Alex Ferguson are squaring up for a battle to sign Derby wonderkid Will Hughes.

Mancini's Manchester City and neighbours and title rivals Under-17 star, who was the talk of last week's Algarve Tournament in Portugal.

Midfielder Hughes was the star of the show as England triumphed ahead of rivals Holland, France and Portugal.

Juventus are ready to press ahead with a summer move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, reports talkSPORT.

The 25-year-old Bosnian international has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, and with Carlos Tevez poised to return to first-team action, now looks surplus to requirements.

With seven goals in his first four matches this season, Dzeko appeared to have finally settled in Manchester, but Citizens boss Roberto Mancini is growing impatient after a series of frustrating performances from the target man.

City have been linked with a host of different players to improve their attacking options during the summer, meaning Dzeko's future in England is anything but certain, and he could be offered an escape route by the Serie A giants.

The Turin-based club are monitoring his situation and will step up their interest at the end of the current campaign, with Juventus likely to be an attractive option for Dzeko.

Aguaro, Balotelli and Tevez do not need the other team members to play to their strengths they just get on with it, Dzeko like Carroll is a one trick pony and has showed he is not good enough at this level which is a shame as i actually like the guy and hoped it would work out for him.

MANCHESTER CITY last night made a dramatic move for Lille sensation Eden Hazard.

Spurs and Arsenal have been locked in a battle to try and sign the Belgian playmaker, 21.

But City boss Roberto Mancini, assistant David Platt and chief football administration officer Brian Marwood flew to France to watch Hazard score one goal and set up two more in Lille's 4-0 win over Valenciennes.

And the trio were expected to open negotiations about a summer deal for Hazard, who has a £33million release clause in his contract.

Manchester United and Chelsea are interested as well and Alex Ferguson also watched Hazard last weekend.

But City believe they can outbid any of their rivals with a deal worth over £150,000 a week.

Hazard revealed: "I heard before the game that Mancini was there.

"For my part I always try and play the same way, whether Alex Ferguson's there or Mancini now.

"I try and forget about that when I'm on the pitch, I try to play my own game. No matter who's in the stands I just try to show what I can do.

"We'll see what happens, but for now I'm concentrating on finishing the season well with Lille."
