Sad sad tale. THE boy killed after falling from a steam engine at Beamish Museum has been named. Seven-year-old Karl Doran, of Darlington, died after sustaining fatal head injuries on Sunday afternoon at the County Durham history attraction, near Chester-le-Street. The North East Ambulance Service said he was pronounced dead at the scene. It has been revealed that Karl’s dad, Phillip Doran, 41, was driving the steam traction engine from which his son fell. Police and the Health and Safety Executive continue to investigate the incident.
