Getting sick of playing for a crowd that hate him maybe? If that happened to me I'd want to leave. Why play for a club where the fans hate you?

    I was at the game.

Santon my MOTM, he was great in all aspects and gave us a brilliant attacking edge.
You're a bit harsh on Willo, he was definitely level with Colo performance wise.

As for Benny, he had a decent performance but was frustrating at times, he can hang on to the ball too much and take the difficult way out which doesn't always pay off. If he didn't score today I don't think people would be going as crazy over him but that's understandable, Jonas was great as well.

Obertan-the same problem as Benny but x 1000, seriously losing patience with him.

Special mention goes to Abeid who held his own in midfield and easily looked starter material, maybe slightly too defensive but he could just be following orders.

didnt realise you were Jamaican <whistle>

Also, could anyone who was at the match fill me in on what happened in the first half? it sounded like we were playing well(esp with Benny-Yohan linking up) and then it just stopped for no reason (commentators were saying Cabaye started dropping too deep, leaving our attackers isolated?).

Damn, just realised that's the abbreviation for Martin O'neil. <doh>

We could of been 3-0 up by the end of the second half, we were not clinical enough. Once Benny got that goal though we hammered them, they seemed to have sat back and let us come at them like we did at old trafford, nearly worked as well...

a fantastic win and I'm starting to think we are actually capable of winning something under MA.

Aye happened against the Mackems too. They just can't hold a lead, park the bus every time but aren't good enough to keep the opposition out.

The crowd does not hate him. They think he's ****, but they don't hate him, the same way they don't hate Shola for being ****.

The crowd vent their frustration, the bloke always cuts back, instead of just putting it in first time or trying to win a corner. He always ****s about with the ball, and it's very frustrating because all he's doing is giving the opposition time to get bodies back.

They will show their appreciation when he does something good, and they will show their frustration with him if he does something ****, like we do with Shola a lot, it doesn't mean we hate them.

He gets payed a lot of money to play football, and needs to justify the cash that the fans pay to watch him and also to the club that give him his wages. It's him that needs to prove himself and work hard, he's been given a good chance at the highest possible club he could have got consistent first team football at, he owes the club, not the other way around.

He's been given the chance, and sometimes he's just completely lazy, like today. The other players would have had an excuse for being a little bit off the pace, but he didn't even play against Man Utd except for the last 5 minutes.

Well put Tash <ok> With the exception of Owen, Ive never hated a Newcastle player. Ive always wanted the **** ones to do well. The fans have every right to complain about a players performance

Obertan has played around 20 games for us this season now and is still showing no signs of progression, thats around half a season played, how many chances do we need to give him before Pardew realises hes no good, now is most certainly the time to give someone else a go whether it be Ben Arfa or Raylor, either will do but I'd prefer Benny.

He should be made to earn his place in the starting lineup just as Ben Arfa has had to, I'm not one for targeting specific players (at the game) but I really cant blame people for showing a bit of frustration because this guy just doesnt look like a good footballer to me.

The problem is that Pardew might be inadvertently ruining Obertan's confidence by playing him so often and willing him on.

No one can really get very frustrated or run out of patience with a player if they don't get played enough for that to happen, as it does take time. We know we have some **** players in our side, but we don't boo them or get TOO pissed off with them if they don't get many apps.

By playing Obertan and basically going against the grain when it comes to his poor performances, he's just exposing him to the crowd more and more, who will become more and more restless with his performances.

Obertan needs time if he's to come through, so I think he should stick to cameos for now. That way, Obertan will gradually get the time he needs, but he won't be there often enough for the crowd to lose patience so quickly. It might seem like it would stunt his development, but it's actually far more likely to progress it.
