As a supporter now living in Yorkshire, I have not been able to see first hand everything my club has been doing in the community, however it is very obvious with all the media coverage that we have been absolutely amazing in everything we have done in the community, and therefore totally trust the clubs decision on Friday
Im glad that SLF reminded the press of the incident that resulted in our youngsters walking off the pitch due to racism. Nothing has been done. And when the press come to the stadium, do they know why it is known as the Kiyan Prince Stadium? Do they know what the club has down for Greenfell? Maybe the press need to take a good look at themselves, they seem to be able to print what they want,...….
I rather liked Hoos comments regarding media corporations and challenging them to prove the amount of internal action they take as a natural part of their day-to-day business.
It didn't look great initially, I saw a lot of comments from knuckle dragging bigots seeing, with their limited brain power, this as a sign that we were ****ing off anti racism. However after the statements the club made it's been a real positive for QPR. The club must continue to voice the clubs stance as a lot of bigots don't read passed the headline, and some of the headlines do not reflect what Les and Hoos are saying. I'm extremely proud of the clubs community work, long may it continue
But too many of those that ought to know better - like Jobi NotEnough - also decided to criticise the club. Some of these individuals clearly think that symbolism is greater than action Uninformed comments do nothing other than divert attention away from actually tackling inequality. I've seen this time and time again - my uncle was one of the first to have a same sex marriage here in the UK
Agree with that, some of the coverage by 'football experts' should know more about the club and all we do!
The sad thing is......in the modern age it’s the ‘right on’ thing to do..to have a cause...# blah blah......‘thoughts and prayers’ etc etc. And it takes away any true meaning to the fight taken on by true pioneers like your uncle.....
I often wonder what behaviours we deem to be normal and mainstream acceptable today won't be 10 / 50 / 100 years hence
It cannot be done constantly at every game, it will lose its meaning. Every now and then people can be reminded by players taking the knee. Nothing can go on forever as a ritual before a game. What next the national anthem before every game.
Parallels - though obviously not the same - with clapping for the NHS. Eventually people want to see proper action Well, more cakes for Stainsey at least
Well our union are asking for a £2k pay rise for us all across the board. Great idea and well deserved I feel.....free cake has dried up a bit so how else am I gonna get my daily calorie intake
Social Media is all about soundbites and hashtag, if you're not in their echo chamber you just get mindlessly pilloried. We know how good we are and our record puts many far bigger clubs to shame, those shallow critics have nothing to offer but gestures which are becoming divisive...
On a slight tangent I see that Jobi's Leyton Orient have had to cancel the Carabao tie vs Spurs tonight because of a COVID outbreak at Leyton Orient Bunch of naughty boys not been following the rules?? Or has Sir Les got in a revenge attack??
