All I care about is the job that KR gets the players on the field to do, and he's doing a pretty fine job as things stand. Sometimes you have to sing your own praises, especially since his boss has now been gagged. If he was doing a bad job we would be on his back, vehemently so if we're honest. Lets not do the same when he's doing well.
I was at Peterborough as well and it was immediately after the game in the directors box that Chris let fly at me as I’m pretty sure he’d seen TV footage of me being interviewed in Belgium on the demo march and he probably had no idea I was going to turn up there.
Tell him to f*ck off. It’s one thing to align yourself with the Belgians out of naked self interest, which Parkes has done. It’s another to let your wife and son goad fans on social media over a long period of time. Why is Chris Parkes allowed to take his wife to work with him?
I think you're very mistaken Mr van Gerwen, Bernie was doing the hand gestures to you, she joins a long list!
I went to the Bromley meeting the other week. I have been guilty of panning Robinson in the past, but to be fair, on face value the fella seems genuine. On the pitch so far he's getting us moving in the right direction, and credit where it's due he rode the storm from when he took over. I think he needs to be given a chance, particularly as the backroom staff whilst novices, are more suited to us than the other clowns. Things hopefully will improve and hopefully the Belgians will f*** off soon and we will flourish.
Two things. If he was going to be sacked he would have done it on that disasterous run. I imagine he kept him taking the chance we stayed up and that it was in the pipeline of selling so he did not want to sack the fella because of a pay off.
Yes but will he back him in January? Or will he dump on him from a great height in return for his loyalty?
We are hardly ripping this league up, are we? In fact, a cynic might suggest that we are slightly underperforming given the quality of the opposition. To use a horse racing handicapping analogy, we are are already 9L behind Shrewsbury and with a few other plodders clustered around us. Warm words at fans meetings are great, but anything less than promotion this season must be punished for what it is - a massive failure by Robinson.
I agree with you to an extent. A club the stature of Charlton in League One should always be looking at promotion, but take Shrewsbury for example. If they end up in the play offs, that will still be quite the achievement IMO. All about expectations I guess.
I hope the Shrews go up. We had some awful games against them in div. 2 at the old Valley in front of similar crowds to what we're getting now.
Agree 100% A play-off place should be something we have to reluctantly turn to if/when we get to that point later in the season when an automatic promotion place cannot be achieved anymore. A play-off place should not be a comfortable consolation in the backs of the minds of players at this point in the season. It should never be used as an excuse or justification for not giving maximum effort. How much of a cushion we have over the team in 7th place should mean absolutely nothing right now. The only stat which matters is how many points we are behind the team in second place. The play-offs are an ambition for Clubs with few resources. Clubs who are already punching above their weight in this division. For a Club with resources like Charlton, the play-offs represent second-best and a pitiable lack of ambition.
