colin - change it to Benteke and you have a deal. Villa must know they are going down, so might as well take the increased money now

I am pleased he has got this opportunity because his talent and his performances over the past 18 months or so, fully merit it.

However, I am slightly concerned about him being thrown straight into what is a massive relegation struggle at Peterborough. Sink or swim I supppose, but I can think of better circumstances for him to start his 'promotion' in.

Can he play in Spurs games (Nextgen etc) , like Luongo did while at Ipswich ??

There is not a hope that we'll sign him...he's an ACTUAL striker unlike Saha who was an EX one!

I think we should put a £5m bid in on Torres just to see if they accept it <laugh>

    ANOTHER midfielder? Surely not!

I think we should just start bidding for every striker in europe. Then we can see what was accepted and go from there.

Younes Belhanda, Montpelier & Morocco. His name's popped up a few times since the summer (although some of it may have been me saying we should take a punt on Belhanda during the summer on here, which Talksport copied and pasted...)

Let's say that a striker doesn't happen... how will you feel about things?

I don't know if I can take another window of being let down. There's just no excuses any more. Yes we signed some good talent in the summer, but we also created some massive holes and showed no ambition by not spending anything in order to push on. Fair enough, Levy might have wanted to hang fire a bit because he hadn't seen how we'd be under AVB, but AVB has done more than enough to show the progress he's making. If levy ****s this up, which is looking likely i think a lot of fans are going to be very bemused, angry and disheartened. I think there could be a massive backlash.

how will you feel about our situation and what questions will you be asking? (if any)

Maarten Stekelenburg, the Dutch national keeper, is on a flight to London to sign for Fulham. Lands in about an hour.
Only one problem. Talks between his club Roma and Mr Jol's side have broken down! <laugh>
    Poor bastard.

I will be very pissed off Roo. We are always the nearly team. If Everton get Negredo that would be ridiculous and add fuel to my anger.
In our last 8 matches how many goals have Adebayor and Defoe scored between them? I know Adebayor has been at the ACON but we knew that from the beginning of the season.
If Bale gets injured we're ****ed. No other player in our squad is capable of doing what he did last night.

But 20 million euros for a Spanish international in his prime (27) is not exactly crazy money. It may be a couple of million overpriced but surely Levy could negotiate terms added to performance and potential sell on.

everton can't afford him if the 20mill euro's is true.

Ade and Defoe have 3 goals between them in 3 months, according to a stat i just read. (haven't checked it though)

bale and defoe have scored 20/41of our goals. - bearing in mind Defoe's scored bugger all recently, the need for a striker is unreal.

this is why I'm asking you guys how you'll feel if it doesn't happen. it's just inexcusable. - especially considering defoe's recent injury problem, how important CL qualification is, and the mistakes we've previously made.
