Not bothered it's about the summer now and next season. It's only a few months. Some Newcastle fans have very short sight regarding this transfer window.
If Willock or Tonali were available there'd be no need to sign anyone. But one more injury or suspension to our midfield and we're ****ed and Bruno will certainly be suspended again soon. We need another CM desperately.
Within four weeks everyone is back bar Joelinton and Pope. Just go all out vs Fulham, then accept the defeat at Villa before rallying around a decent 2nd half of the season. It'd be a bit disingenuous to moan endlessly about a plodder like Philips, then moan because we didn't buy him. Only Spurs have done enviable business, but they've got a chance of CL so why not? That CB they bought is precisely what I would want us to have, but we can't compete with them right now.
Fs Arsenal can't afford Toney and Isak is worth the same if not more than him, he's going nowhere, we're not skint just cash shy, probably won't buy anyone but it won't matter if we don't beat Fulham, everyone is getting their knickers in a twist for nowt.
They don't have to sell any player in particular, but every player has a price. If Newcastle sell a player they'll buy 2 or 3. Nothing to care about .... as much as we like certain players, once they've gone they're forgotten about quickly. It soon becomes excitement about the new arrivals and the season ahead.
I don’t dislike him but Longstaff probably makes the most sense to sell working on the premise that it’s that level we need to improve at this moment and, subject to price, could mean that we retain the likes of Bruno, Isak etc. Also, the sale of Andy Cole brought home to me that it ultimately doesn’t matter who you sell, it’s who you bring in to replace that person that counts. So, therefore, for me we can sell whoever the powers that be decide to PROVIDED THAT, the replacement is better.
I'm sure this is the issue. We need depth and don't want to screw us over for the next 2 windows when you can probably get someone of similar quality for half the price from Europe or beit that might need a bit longer to adjust.
Newcastle United have called off their pursuit of England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, 28, because of Manchester City's demands for a loan fee. (Telegraph - subscription required) Paris St-Germain are considering a move for Newcastle's Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, 26, who has a £100m release clause. (Talksport) More bullshit Newcastle fear Brazil midfielder Joelinton could need surgery on a thigh injury, which may rule the 27-year-old out for the rest of the season. Considering its now over a week since Joelinton got injured, it seems to take them a while to work out if he needs surgery or not.
Was like with Botman, and Barnes. Howe (not his fault, I stress!) just kept sort of saying "not really sure what's wrong"......
Seasons basically ****ed anyway, give the cup a good run but im not that fussed if we save our funds for the summer now rather than panick buying.
I see Yesterday the noise was anti FFP and Today all the journalists that support big 6 clubs are out defending it ... funny that. It's unfair financial play but at least more people are waking up to why it was really brought in. Changes coming though and I suspect more leeway while making sure the big 6 hold all the cards.
