De Gea would be a short term fix but would see us through to the summer I guess. Personally I'd rather "loan to buy" Ramsdale but Arsenal aren't going to give him up to a top 4 contender especially on a "pay later deal". Would need Ramsdale to force the issue - he might as he needs to be playing before the Euros but still think it would be a very expensive deal to wrap up!
I dunno mate I think there's this weird focus on keepers' being perfect and they are under so much scrutiny when something (inevitably) goes wrong. Ramsdale's a decent keeper, probably better than Pope overall and very close to Raya (who's made his own mistakes). But there's something to be said for scouting on keepers rather than sticking £30m+ in Arsenal's pocket - look at Flekken, Vicario, etc, unheard of before making moves and all look as good. I think we needed to upgrade Pope Summer anyway. He's been brilliant at times but there's flaws in his game, punching is poor, distribution worse. I think we should really prioritise GK now - problem with a shoulder injury is he's now weakened physically and mentally, going to his left will be an issue for ages.
I don't think he did anything to warrant losing his place last year - probably one of Arsenals best performers imo. What I think it was, a bit like the clamor from some quarters re. Pope is that he isn't that good with his feet. Personally feel a goalie needs to be good at keeping shot's out and OK with their feet and he's better than Pope technically and as good a shot stopper so would be an upgrade. Unless the club have found the next Ederson or Allison coming out of South America for example Rambo be an upgrade, with longevity for us (only 25 y/o). But if you can find a younger keeper who's next level and unheard of (cheaper) we should go for that instead.
I'm hoping Newcastle can somehow stay within 6 to 9 points of top 4 come January otherwise I think they might aswel keep the money for the summer.
I'm just guessing but teams probably have to enter a squad at the beginning of the competition and stick with it???
Yes, any new signings can play if they are not cup tied. For Europe, they would need to be included in our European 25 man squad at the expense of someone already there. This needs to be finalised at the end of the transfer window
De Gea rumours seem to be hotting up and a Private jet (same company NUFC usually use) is due in from Chester this afternoon, as he is a free agent can he be signed immediatley.
Sun saying we're gonna sign Ferran Torres now, seems bollocks as they're saying Neves will Def come in the same article.
