Schurrle off to Wolfsburg.

 

Yep €30m, just enough to buy Cuadrado.

 

I don't understand the logic of that move, from neither player nor Chelsea. Schurrle is an excellent footballer.

 

Wolfsburg are rich and 2nd in the league. But I agree with you about Chelsea.

 

Schurrle must be homesick for the old country.

 

And Chelsea mad. They seem to sell a good play to Wolfsburg every season.

 

Any obvious commercial link..? Like Watford has/had..?

 

Sadly I think even Brenda has learnt that you do not sign nutjob Italian strikers. Would be great to watch Balotelli and Osvaldo in the same team though, ripping it up or beating the **** out of each other

 

Probably some way of beating financial fair play.

 

Schurrle isn't much better (if better at all) than their other options and may not be happy being a squad player. Suits all parties with FFP being taken into account. Chelsea in recent times have been the best in the transfer department, helps with the sort of money they can throw around though.

 

Interesting couple of minutes. Popped across to the BBC Football website to see what transfers had gone on today. Of course, there appears to be Schurrle out, but the talk was about transfers coming into the Premier League.

And when the Beeb invited people to comment on the most impressive signing so far this January, it seemed that Elia was the one people were most impressed by. So, it appears that Saints have had an excellent transfer window, up until now.
