Yes and no. Of course you want differences of opinion but sometimes its more about the way they are expressed than the actual message.

These guys didn't always manage that successfully.

I would like to see us get:
A gk- Matty Ryan from brugge or Lopes from Lyon
Cb/lb- Sam Umtiti... also lyon
St- Lacazette - you guessed it! Lyon

Probably not all of the lyon players i doubt that they would be ok with that but umtiti can play cb or lb and lacazette has better stats than zlatan this season. If we want to get champs league this is the caliber of striker we need

 

Lacazette is not in a million years coming to us - he's on myriad want lists. Plus Lyon are top of Ligue 1. Wouldn't sell anyone.

 

Lacazette will end up at one of the top, top clubs. I'd love us to put a bid in for him as I think we have the financial clout to match his value but I don't think that he's a realistic target unfortunately.

 

I would argue that challenging champs league is as an appealing prospect as lyon combined with the fact that the EPL is a more attractive league than ligue 1. I did hear that other teams were tentatively linked with AL but nothing concrete.

Another thought is that we seem to have sufficient cover at lw can J Rod play up top? If not then Ings, Rhodes or Austin could be good options as well.

Does anyone know if we are still interested in Ings? All rumours I've seen recently have been teams like Newcastle and Sunderland. It would be a shame if he went elsewhere.

ok, maybe I just don't rate him for us. I don't think CN is where our concern is, despite not having Vic or Morgan. I have faith in those that are left for that... Reed, JWP, Davis, Cork, Gape, even Bertrand did a good job there in one of the games. CB however is a concern as we have two

Yeah I've been convinced for a while that Ings will arrive in the summer.

 

Financially, Ings would be far better placed in the summer as a free agent than moving now so I think he will wait, continue to score goals and play well pushing his value up and up.

 

That's good to know. If we're still interested, as a Saints fan, we're bound to be top of his list.

 

I hope we get him and another central striker in the pelle mould. We have far too little depth in that position this season.

Having those 3 plus mane, tadic and long (and perhaps even elia if he does well) as a choice of front 3 will allow Gallagher to go out on loan / develop without pressure. It will mean less to worry about if Jay leaves
