I think Pelle benefits from the fact that he is a strong striker in a fast and powerful league. He doesn't struggle with the physicality of the Prem whereas other players do. Can't really compare him to RVW in the Prem because one is playing for a side that works to his strengths and he has pretty good supply. The other played for a very very defense orientated team that didn't give much supply at all in Norwich.

I dare say that Hooper and/or RVW would score about the same goals as Pelle in this Saints team just as Pelle has. I would go further and suggest someone like Bony or Costa would score shedloads in this team.

How would people feel about us taking someone like Michael Bradley on loan? Always been impressed with him for USA. Bags of experience and energy and would maybe be available on loan for a couple of months before the MLS starts (and whilst MS, TA and VW are injured).

Poor man's version of Davis IMO. Runs around and as busy but not as much end product.

On a par with Chris Marsden I would say which was fine when we were plucky relegation fighters but not now we are cultured title contenders.

I'd agree. But with 3 big, international midfielders out injured. I think a 6ft 1, 90 cap internationalwould come in very handy alongside Davis, JWP and Reed. A decent short term fix/option I think.

Opinions. I think he is a good defender for his age and will only get better. He seems to have stepped up this season as well and has played about 25 games.

Alongside or as backup. I rate all 3 of those as better than Bradley who is to me like the England fan's favourite workhorse. Runs around a lot, puts loads of effort in but our midfield does so much more than just run around a lot and put lots of effort in. Our midifled options are all very complete midfielders. Even Wanyama this year. They have to defend and be disciplined. They have to press and challenge like terriors and they have to be very mobile and effective in supporting the attack.

HE was and exactly what was required for the team he was in playing at the level they were playing at. i.e.plucky team punching above their weight. An FA cup type side ;)

I agree Impsaint on your Bradley comments. We need more than that from our players

Clubs change their plans tho. Some transfers I only knew when they were all but done (Bertrand). Others I knew because of DTLW and the person I know. Know one knows 100% if we may bring in more then a striker. I just say what I have been told. But even that news is a week old so with injuries etc things could have changed.

Completely agree - not suggesting he's a long term saint. the next 5/6 games though, considering the opposition and the injury list, will go a long way to deciding where we will finish and bringing in a Bradley kind of midfielder would give us abetter chance of coming out of them positively. Struggling to think who else might be available on a short term loan who would be as good a fit.

I think we are ok in midfield.

Cork, Reed, Prowse, Davis and then you have Gape. So as long as no one else gets injured we are ok.

Centre Back: Fonte, Gardos, McCarthy is were we have a short term problem.

CB is the issue another injury or a red card and we could be in trouble.

A recall of Stephens would seem to be a fix. Cover for cb, rb and dm.
But I suppose he is better off playing every game for Swindon. That and I don't think you can cancel long term loans

His loan isn't long-term although I wouldn't be surprised if Swindon want to extend it until the end of the season given his performances for the team.

Stephens loan expires in 10 days or so (end of the month) ... can see him coming back if it stays as we are. At least temporarily.

They all gave up on here because of admonishments or conflicts with the mods. CBK has gone too. Shame to lose four long term posters even if a lot of people did not always agree with them, but that's the point of discussion forums.

I would encourage them all to come back if they ever are on here.
