Picked this from the Ugly Inside....positing the idea that ManU are after Bertrand (quite possible....the bastards) and might offer Luke Shaw in exchange (pure fairyland). I can't see us parting with Bertrand because I'm sure we will try and avoid too many losses in one transfer window...and Wanyama and Mane have dibs next summer. Secondly, we can't afford Shaw's wages, so that isn't going to happen. Bearing in mind this is nonsensical....do you think we could actually get more out of Luke than United have. I think that before his injury he was showing flashes of his old self and might improve dramatically away from the toxic atmosphere that is being reported at OT.

 

Ronald has again said we are not selling anyone in January (for those that still don't believe him) and confirmed if we do any business in January it will be for an offensive player. Didn't think Saints would go for offensive players after the Osvaldo incident.

For me Bertrand hasn't been that great lately. People like to moan at Cedric but for me he has played better then Bertrand in some of the recent games. Utd can give us £25m + Shaw for him....

He has been reminding me of Clyne, post England call up. Does the odd good thing, but lacking his previous consistency.

 

Interesting that Ron did not come out with a categorical denial to the Solly March rumour.

 

Let's do a multi swap deal with United - Bertrand plus Mane for Shaw plus Schneiderlin. It would be like going back in time.

Not a rumour, but Stephen Naismith wants more playing time. Averages 1 goal every four games, not prolific, but could put pressure on Pelle, Long and Mane.

I think Bertrand has been his usual self, more or less. Tadic has been a bit off or played on the other side, so that impacts Bertrand.

Last few games, Cedric has made 1-2 really bad mistakes to undo what would otherwise have been excellent games. His positioning needs work but that can be fixed with better communication and understanding the scheme instead of just drifting vaguely towards the ball. I can't say he has played well but the potential is obvious.

We could use some depth/competition at RB but I think people calling for a replacement are way jumping the gun.
