For me it was a toss up between McClean and Sess for man of the match, although I also think Bendtner had a good game today...

So much easier when you know the result. The lads decided it's worth a watch so things must be looking up after reading the match report on the BBC <laugh>

McLean gave just about a perfect wing display and wondered if the Steve Guppy influence was part of it. Just out of interest I Googled Guppy and his career is something else. Well worth a read and his connection to MON is strong.

    read this http://myoldmansaidfollowsunderland.blogspot.co.uk/2011/08/james-mclean-irish-point-of-view.html

this is before he became big and was an derry city fans point of view

"Do you think James McClean can cut it in the Premier League?

The short answer would be no, at least not right away. Very few players have come from the League of Ireland and slotted straight into the top level of English football. James McClean will leave Derry City as one of their most prized sons but will arrive at Sunderland as a prospect rather than a sure and quick answer to a defensive gap. Then again, Sunderland aren't flush with quality out wide, at least not to my eyes. Steve Bruce said that, upon confirmation of the transfer, McClean has "every chance to come here and make the next step in his career [and he] is an outstanding young talent." Bruce appears to like him, so with a little space in the squad, there's no reason to believe that James McClean won't have an opportunity to develop, but it shouldn't be expected straight away."

Thought the greek lad, bendy, sess, mcclean & JC were superb today, however, and not wanting to put a dampener or be negative but QPR were utter f*cking ****e. Think we could ave played our youths today and beaten them.
