Curragh 2.40 Roicead (16/1 ladbrokes, 14s elsewhere) 1pt EW 3.10 Inxile 6/4 2pts win 3.50 Native Khan 12/1 (yes you heard it right ) 1pt EW Salisbury 4.10 Trovare 11/2 1pt EW If you want to play safe which I think I'll be doing after a couple of bad days then put them in an EW lucky 15.
I think Native Khan ran a decent race in the Derby. After all he was only beaten by 2.5L. IMHO the softer ground will suit Native Khan much better who seems like a plodder. Needed that run at 1m4f and only needs to find a couple of lengths against his rivals. The obvious danger is Carlton House and Treasure Beach but I see little value as I see KK has a similar chance of landing this. Murtagh knows this horse much better now and will ride to KK strengths.
Ok my take on the Irish Derby - I think it depends on tactics, I think Ballydoyle will want it to be run in exactly the same way as The Derby, with a nice even pace that should suit the best horse, I see Memphis taking it up and kicking before Treasure Beach comes to take it up inside the distance. I think Treasure Beach will be placed, but I do think that the Irish Derby is run on a track that normally brings the best horses to the fore and I think that Carlton House and Seville are the best two in the race. If they go at a proper pace throughout I think Seville is the one to be with, however if they don't I think Carlton House will have too much of a turn of foot for them. I can't back Carlton House at the odds and Treasure Beach is too short to be the EW play. Seville will either run well or he will be unplaced and I can't back him EW. In short I think the bookmakers have it right.
Hello lads..........some cracking fare on offer today. Can't see past Carlton House in the big one.I don't buy into the school of thought that suggests he was unlucky at Epsom. He may ahve run slightly wide at tattenham corner and lost a wheel 100 yards from the post but neither had any bearing on the result imo.He has only had four runs and will continue to improve.11/8 looks very fair to me. As already mentioned,i'm gonna have some ew at 14's on Colonel Mak in the 2.40 at The Curragh.Races off 96,only three pounds higher than when successful in last years Ayr Silver Cup,has a good draw and the excellent FB on top.The only problem is the rapid desiccation of the ground.Connections hopeful of a good run. Also may have a bet on Tough As Nails in the Railway Stakes. This looks a good little race and if my fancy was trained by someone more fashionable he would be favourite and not the 5/2 shot he is now.On a line through Power he will be hard to handle. GL everyone.
I think one more bet. 3.10 Inxile 6/4 & 3.50 Carlton House 11/8. Pays nearly 5/1 on the double. Do 1pt win double.
In the irish derby Roddy is gonna make the running tracked by memphis and then i expect treasure seville a to be followed by CH and NK. In my opinion Seville will win impressively they were so dissapointed after the dante they reallly thought he was gonna smash that field to bits but he is a lazy horse at home and he is still a bit green in my opinion. Also in my opinion he didn't like the undulations of epsom and was given a easy time by soumillion. Now i have been banging on about seville since he ever hit a racecourse so maybe im looking for excuses for him but i feel he will run a huge race today
I am backing MEMPHIS TENNESEE in the irish derby today. This time i think he will scoot off again and wont give way so easily on this galloping track. When recently in the company of aidy,he more or less said how he favours mounts for his son.How many times have we seen his lesser fancied horses win?
Afternoon all. Bit knackered now as I ran a half marathon this morning and just polished off a full English <biggrin> 4.20 Uttoxeter Dom D'orgeval has been laid out for this and should go very close 5.25 Uttoxeter Bold Perk - won over fences off this rating a week ago by 19 lengths and is strongly fancied to follow up here Singles and a double. Good luck everybody
