Really does seem unfair that Gunn can make such an obviously dangerous challenge and cause a significant injury in doing it, and yet there's absolutely no consequence to him for it. It's particularly mad when you see how absolutely zero-tolerance football is around raising hands to the face. And then you think about us having to play with 10 men because of Morton's perfectly good tackle at Sheffield Wednesday. It's hard not to feel like we're up against it a bit.
Can action not be taken retrospectively? I don’t think Gunn was cautioned during the game for that incident.
It never rains........ Aaron Connolly blow sees Hull City forced into major transfer rethink - Hull Live (hulldailymail.co.uk)
Furlong out for 6 weeks to 2 months with a tweaked medial cartlidge in his knee - only played 1 game. Tweaked his knee in the Birmingham game, played on and now out for a long period. Talk about robust signings...
I felt the ref was more concerned showing to the TV viewers that he wasn't going to be affected by a large home crowd and therefore gave them the benefit of doubt on every decision
It does seem that everything bad has come at once. Some big injuries. Shocking refereeing decisions. AFCON. This is were you need stubborn, bloody minded, ugly players who go into games determined not to lose, regardless of the odds against us.
If refs want to show they are not affected by large home crowds on TV we should be able to get away with murder tomorrow night. Unfortunately our crowd doesn’t influence refs, some places the crowd would have been in uproar but there was hardly a ripple.
Sadly not. Retrospective action only possible for something the referee didn't see, not for when he makes a mistake, however blatant it is.
For me it’s reminiscent of Gary Cahill in that I still think he was reckless in his “clash” with Ryan Mason. Mason got life changing injuries and Cahill nothing.
Absobleedingutely. I've thought that ever since I saw that happen in front of me. Cahill had absolutely no chance of getting the ball, if he'd gone in late with his feet and broken his leg he'd probably have got a red card. He went with his head and I don't think we even got a foul.
I felt Cahill deliberately nutted him as he couldn't reach the ball. I wonder if Mason had been winding him up or something. Looked like assault and gbh to me
