“Max Clark has picked up a hamstring injury which is going to put him out for three-four weeks“.

Looks like he's going to be a complete waste of a signing, Fleming will be back before then.

Elder must be the fittest kid in the squad the amount of running he gets through. He needs a break otherwise he might have a fat paddy trainer sat on him

Thomas Mayer has a broken metatarsal and is out for the rest of the season.

Alfie Jones and Lewie Coyle picked up knocks last night and will be assessed ahead of the weekend.

Magennis might be available on Saturday.

GM - We've had good news on Richie Smallwood as well this week. He could be back in three or four weeks which is really pleasing. Sean McLoughlin and Brandon Fleming have been making progress, and Max Clark as well. Hopefully he will be back out on the grass late next week.

Reece Burke could be out for 2 to 3 weeks with a calf problem .

Alfie Jones is ok but will probably have to go through a 5 day concussion protocol.

Alfie Jones is fit and available for Hull City's Good Friday fixture against Crewe Alexandra, Grant McCann has confirmed.

The versatile 23-year-old was withdrawn in the latter stages of the draw with Gillingham following a collision with Gills goalkeeper Jack Bonham.

“Alfie is fine,” McCann said. “He followed the (concussion) protocols in the early part of the week and trained as normal yesterday – non-contact but full contact today.”

McCann reported no new injury concerns ahead of the Tigers’ first trip to the Alexandra Stadium in 14 years.

“Everyone is fine, in good spirits, in good form,” he said. “We’ve had Max Clark (hamstring) and Brandon Fleming (pubic bone injury) on the training ground this week.

“We’ve been able to get some minutes into players in a game (Under-23s) on Monday against Crewe, which was great. Everyone is in a good place, looking forward to the game.”

McCann is hopeful forward Josh Magennis and winger Gavin Whyte will be involved in the matchday squad following international duty with Northern Ireland.

The game will come too soon for club captain Richie Smallwood but the experienced midfielder is making progress in his recovery from a knee injury.

“Richie’s been on the grass doing some straight line running,” McCann revealed. “It was nice to see him out there.

“He’s making very good progress. In terms of a time scale, I’m not sure – whether it’s next week, the week after or the week after that.

“We’ve got to see how he responds to training and the loads the sports science staff are setting him.

“It’s nice to see him out on the grass doing some running and I’m sure the balls will start coming out soon.”

Centre-back Reece Burke will miss the next two to three weeks after sustaining a calf injury in training the day before the Gillingham match.

Hull City have been left sweating on the fitness of George Honeyman and Jacob Greaves, following Easter Monday’s 3-0 win over Northampton Town.

The influential duo were late departures from a comfortable victory at the KCOM Stadium, having picked up knocks in the closing stages with Jordan Flores and Sean McLoughlin coming on in their place.

I don’t know, it’s just raw after the game,” he told BBC Humberside.

“On George and Greavesy, we’ll assess them over the next 24/48 hours.

“I think he’s OK, I’ve seen him in the changing room, if there is anything there the physios will look after him and make sure he gets the right treatment.”

Midfielder George Honeyman and defender Jacob Greaves are fit for Hull City’s trip to Plymouth Argyle, Grant McCann has confirmed.

The Tigers duo were withdrawn in the closing stages of the 3-0 win over Northampton Town but the boss says it was more of a precautionary measure.

“Both of them are fine – they’ve trained all week,” said McCann.

“It was more of a precaution. I knew, in the back of my head after the game, both of them were fine but I wanted to get them double checked.”

Centre-back Reece Burke (calf) and captain Richie Smallwood (knee) won’t play a part this weekend but could be back in a week’s time.

“They’re getting there,” McCann said. “Could we have them back for Fleetwood? Maybe. Is Sunderland more of a possibility? Possibly.

“They’re both very close and it will make us stronger. Brandon Fleming, Max Clark and Jordan Flores are coming back so the squad is looking stronger all the time.”
