Looks as if Elliot Bonds has been crock playing against Scunny, seems he will be out for a while. A shame that as he was starting to get a run of games and doing quite well. https://www.gloucestershirelive.co....ll-news/hull-city-loan-midfielder-set-4637479
Lewie Coyle is recovering more quickly than expected and the target is for him to now be available for Grimsby on Nov 17th.
Adelakun has not trained this week, due to an ankle problem, so is unlikely to feature on Saturday. One or two others are carrying knocks and won't be risked, but McCann hasn't revealed who.
Definitely not worth the risk with anyone, use the squad for the next 2 games and lets see who takes their chance and gives grant a headache for the next league game
Jordy de Wijs suffered a fractured eye socket in Sunday's Emirates FA Cup fixture against Stevenage, but McCann is hopeful the Dutch defender won't be absent for a prolonged period. "We’ll have to see whether we can get him through games if need be in terms of wearing a mask or whether he doesn’t need to wear one. I’m hoping it’s not going to set him back too long. I’m hoping we can get him back on the training ground non-contact maybe end of next week." Elsewhere, midfielders Dan Batty and Callum Jones are set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering hamstring injuries. Speaking on the duo, McCann said: "Dan Batty felt his hamstring after the game. I think he covered a lot of ground in the Stevenage game which was phenomenal. His is just fatigue in terms of his hamstring. "Young Callum Jones has done his quite badly. He's probably going to be out for about four weeks."
McCann on the injuries... “No fresh injuries. Everyone came through the Doncaster game. We’ll just be missing Jordy de Wijs, Dan Batty and Callum Jones. “Reece Burke is fine. He’s fine for the weekend. He had the operation on Monday night, so we didn’t want to risk him.” “We’re hoping we might have Dan Batty back early next week.” “Jordy won’t need to wear a mask. We’ll just need to look after him for a week or so and it’s quite a nasty injury, but he’s a big boy and he’ll be fine.”
Alfie Jones out until at least Boxing Day. Tonight's injuries, Samuelsen tight calf and Tom Eaves was feeling sick.
Martin Samuelson doubtful for Saturday, having another scan on calf injury as results from first were inconclusive. Tom Eaves awaiting Covid test result, Jordy de Wijs been training all week and Dan Batty resumes training this afternoon.
Jordy de Wijs and Martin Samuelsen have calf issues and Keane Lewis-Potter hasn’t trained all week with a hamstring issue. He’s touch-and-go for the weekend.” “Callum Jones is getting closer to returning after his injury.”
Tom Eaves - calf strain - will undergo scan. Festus Arthur - Thigh injury - probably out for the rest of the season.
Grant McCann confirmed to the press this morning that Hull City have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash with Blackpool at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers’ Head Coach was able to report the positive news that Callum Jones had returned to training following a lay-off with a hamstring injury, but Martin Samuelsen remains sidelined with a calf injury. “Martin is the only one out, he is carrying a knock on his calf,” said McCann. “He’s having a follow up scan today, so we’ll know more on that later. “Callum Jones is back in training, which is good. Billy Chadwick has come back from his loan at Halifax too so we’ve got good numbers and the squad is looking strong.”
McCann on Samuelsen- “He’s obviously been off for 10 days because he had Covid, he’s also picked up a calf injury which the scan shows has cleared up’.
GM: “On the injury front, everyone has come through the game well.” “Tom Eaves is still in a boot, Callum Jones and Martin Samuelsen are back on the grass after their injuries, but aside from that we’re looking good.” “We want to keep people out of that physio room.”
