GM: “Smallwood has a scan today and we don’t think it’s too bad but it possibly could see him sit out this weekend.” “Tom Eaves is close to a return.”
Head Coach Grant McCann has confirmed that captain Richie Smallwood and forward Mallik Wilks are “pushing” for an early return this weekend against Plymouth Argyle. The duo missed the trip to Northampton last weekend and were expected to be out for a couple of weeks, so may not be risked if they aren’t 100% fit for the clash against the Pilgrims. McCann also confirmed that new signing Regan Slater will be involved in the squad. Meanwhile, Tom Eaves is fit to return for Hull City this weekend. The striker had been missing since the Carabao Cup Round One clash against Sunderland in early September, but has been back in training for 10 days and will be in contention for Grant McCann’s side. However, the Tigers will definitely be without James Scott against Plymouth. The forward picked up an ankle injury during the win over Northampton and will be missing for at least the next couple of weeks.
i used this phrase once with London colleagues in a group WhatsApp thing - the phrase doesn’t travel well beyond the Humber estuary..... The general consensus was wtf!
