I ****ing hate this "support the players on the field" bollocks.

Actually, I hate your full post.

    Where does it stop?

If Allam decides to drop "Hull" and just be "Tigers" is that ok? Should we ignore that and just support the players on the field? After all, he saved the club.

What if he then decides to move "Tigers" to a different town or city? Bath doesn't have a league club. Should we ignore that and just support the players on the field? After all, he saved the club.

What if he then decides Tigers aren't marketable and changes the name to "Manta Rays"? Should we ignore that and just support the players on the field? After all, he saved the club.

After all that, how much of the club that Allam saved have you got left? You're watching the Manta Rays play in Bath, but hey, at least you supported the players on the field so you're a true supporter.

I don't think Allam is the enemy, but I do think he's mildly autistic. He just doesn't understand football, and after being proved right when others have doubted him the majority of his business career (and even his time here) it's hard for him to accept he's got this one wrong, and he has got this one horribly wrong.

Right now, his best friend is apathy from the likes of you. Get a backbone.

Stop telling other people what to do and tell everyone what you are going to do.

I really wish people who stop over reacting.

Manta Rays? Bath? Come on TWF, you're better than that hysterical rhetoric which exists in only a handful of supporters heads.

What if? What if he's just changing the name to Hull Tigers and we suddenly get a load of investment and end up a top 4 team? What if? Give me a break.

Right now our worst enemy is conspiracy theorists and people peddling lies online.

I hope Erik has no more to do with the club.I suggest he go and spend time with the muafc fans(if that is the correct name) and find out where anoraks can be purchased at reasonable rates.
This could be a good time for increasing the average IQ amongst the fan base.A natural cull.
I really wish I could swap some of my business competitors with some on here.Give them a diversionary, and infact, irrelevant topic to spend all their time arguing over.I could get on with improving my situation with no increased effort on my part.
Udders was a time to stand up and be counted.I did not count many that day. After almost half a century as a fan the penny dropped that most people are pretty feeble despite all the bluster.
I hope all those who will never go again after the name change start following another local team today and they can stand around the bar together being REAL fans and leave the rest of us pathetic gits to get on with supporting City as we always have and always will.
I do not know how hard it is to grasp this point-nobody will stop me calling City just that.It does not matter to me what is on the badge.I am more upset about the sponsor on the shirt than whatever the wording is on the badge.
I do not believe many will stop following the club.Iwould be amazed if the stay aways numbered more than 100.Still 100 is better than none

What a crock of ****, most people arrive five minutes before kick-off normally anyway.

The team will not be remotely bothered by a march outside the ground before kick-off, I bet you most of them support it, they won't to play for team with a daft name.

Oh for heavens sake even the most sane sensible person cannot possibly believe that changing our name to Hull Tigers will bring more investment. As for moving, I believe that if he could possibly afford to move us to Melton (to spite the council) then he would and I can quite easily see him wanting to change the name because he is not in it for the sentiment or tradition, it means nothing to him. Melton Tigers is a distinct possibility and I am not an hysterical women before you say anything. We are dealing with a man with a huge ego who thinks he is always right and to hell with anyone else. Like has been said before Managers, Owners, players come and go but the one constant is the club and my club is Hull City AFC nicknamed The Tigers.

Last week you refused to accept Hull City Tigers was a stepping stone to Hull Tigers, now it's been confirmed.

Maybe you'll believe me next time, but probably not.

I'm calling you Happy Apathy from now on.

Bollocks. The protest is **** but you're too pig headed to say it. Do a ****ing proper protest get there at 1pm and march chant give speeches. But no stay in pub and wander down there at 2:30 and try and make a pathetic late entrance. Bag of ****.

I don't suppose there's any danger of you actually attending the game today?

My Newcastle tickets came through the post yesterday and on the ticket they refer to us as Hull City FC. Other clubs seem unclear on what to call us and that is a ridiculous situation. The whole thing needs resolving quickly as at the moment I have only seen the name change cause problems, ridicule and a bitter divide amongst some supporters, rather than bring untold riches to the club. Any news on any Cardiff fans joining the protests?

Do you remember that period when most of your posts were denying the name change would happen in any form and specifically challenging OLM to provide a date it would happen so that he'd be proved wrong when it didn't happen? Then after it was announced there was the period where 'he's just dropping three letters, that's all'. Basically you've been adamant all summer that everyone else is wrong to believe this **** was happening, yet even after being so wrong so many times you're still insisting that the rest of us are 'peddling lies online'.

In all honesty I think today's protest will be as ineffectual as the other recent protests.

Most City fans leave the pub at 2.30 and miss kick off anyway. I'd rather capitalise on the fact that we essentially have 90 mins in the same room as the man.

I also think a protest outside the main entrance after the game would be better, journalists/club employees are bound to see it then. You could also hand out literature before/during the game letting people know what's going on.

At the moment I get the feeling these protests are just for Amber Nectar to ket us know they're "better fans" than the rest of us.

    This.

It's truly astounding that Happy Tiger keeps moving the goalposts time and again in order to admit that he got it wrong all along, and now he's actually accusing others of peddling lies. Total delusion.

If I was you I'd be more concerned about whether any Hull City fans will be joining the protest.
What was it last time when Burnsy asked some City fans? He only asked two supporters who both said along the same line about 'They probably don't even know what AFC means', then someone in the protest who tried to shrug of the lack of interest in 'the supporters have their matchday routine to go through'

It's the ulltras who have arranged the march, not Amber Nectar. Les and Andy are just spreading the word, as others are on CI, Andy is on HCO/Tiger-chat and I am on here.

    Tigers = Nickname
Hull City AFC = Full Title

Dr Allam is the custodian of our club, it doesn't mean he can do what he likes on a whim that I can say is unlikely to generate any additional revenue. Clubs that are popular in Asia are so because they have a great history of success (step forward Manchester United and Liverpool) who historically have achieved great success, global support and recognition stems from this success.

Simply changing our name won't make one iota of difference to our global appeal - it will still be close to zero. As has been demonstrated in a number of threads and polls it will alienate approximately 75% of our current supporter base. Not a very smart move from a well respected businessman who would one day like a return on his investment.

I support Hull City AFC and I completely oppose any name change.

I agree with this but it's ridiculous you still have to post that. People have been making that point for a month now and still there are an alarming number of people don't get it <doh>
